NetherRealm Chief Creative Officer Ed Boon wants a remaster of 2005’s Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks.

Ed Boon, co-creator of Mortal Kombat and Injustice and Chief Creative Officer of NetherRealm Studios wants a remaster of Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks.

When a Mortal Kombat fan said Shaolin Monks was one of the best games of all time, which is why he would even prefer a remaster of the classic to a Mortal Kombat 12 release, Boon replied that he would also like a new part or a remaster :

“Yes, Shaolin Monks was a lot of fun. I wish we could have done another one or a remaster.”

“Fun Fact: Originally it was a single player game with RAIDEN as the main character.”

Released for the PlayStation 2 in 2005, the beat ’em up action-adventure Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks is a spin-off of the Mortal Kombat series. Players go solo or in co-op with the two Shaolin monks Liu Kang and Kung Lao to protect the earth from the forces of the outside world.
