Call of Duty will come to Nintendo thanks to the agreement signed with Microsoft

Microsoft has signed a 10-year deal with Nintendo that will see Xbox games released on Nintendo consoles. Call of Duty is one of the games that many Nintendo gamers have been waiting for.

The move comes as Microsoft’s bid to buy Activision Blizzard continues to cause concern among antitrust agencies around the world.

Some worry that Microsoft’s ownership of Activision Blizzard could mean flagship games like Call of Duty become Xbox exclusives. But this agreement would ensure that this would not be the case, since Microsoft also wants to sign a similar one with Sony and PlayStation.

Confirmation of the deal came when Chairman Brad Smith went to Twitter to confirm that a deal had been signed, adding that it shows the company’s commitment to ensuring Activision games like Call of Duty are available “to more players on more platforms.”

Another interesting point about today’s announcement is that there hasn’t actually been a Call of Duty game on a Nintendo platform since 2013 and there has never been one on Nintendo Switch. Could this deal suggest a new Nintendo console is in the works? Leave us your comment.
