Company of Heroes 3: Real-Time Strategy critically acclaimed
This release week has it all, as we found out a few days ago. Today the “red star in the gaming sky” Atomic Heart has appeared, while the day after tomorrow the shooter experience will continue with Company of Heroes 3, but then from a different perspective. Whether the third part of the well-known real-time strategy game series from Relic Entertainment, which is set in the Second World War, can look back on a successful release has been determined in reviews since yesterday evening.

The OpenCritic and Metacritic websites are currently adding up the total scores from all the gaming press reviews that have come in, and the result is plain and simple: Company of Heroes 3
gets the green light. Opencritic has 82 points, Metacritic has a little more with 84 points. There are currently 29 reviews, 27 of which are positive, i.e. at least 75 points have been awarded.
NME’s critics even gave it full marks, describing Company of Heroes 3 as “probably the best real-time strategy game of the last decade”. A “cinematic WW2 masterpiece” that combines its single player content with a solid base for lengthy multiplayer action. There have also been tests from Germany, for example from the German Eurogamer offshoot. This provides Company of Heroes 3 with 90 points, a game recommendation is of course also published.
“The limited units available and the exciting battles tie me to the screen once again. I never know what awaits me around the next corner, whether a counterattack might not suddenly roll in after the task has been completed, for which I have to prepare at lightning speed. The Gameplay is adrenaline-pumping, requires tactical savvy, and the handy new pause feature helps keep your head a little cooler in battle.” – Benjamin Jakobs from Eurogamer Germany

So far there have also been two mixed ratings, but they still get 70 points. The criticisms given here are that Company of Heroes 3 has a bloated and unfinished campaign that doesn’t really fit with the core ideas of Company of Heroes. In addition, players who know the series and have hoped for a major evolution compared to the predecessor could be disappointed, because such a stay in the third part.
