Hogwarts legacy is a game that wants to be repeated. Depending on which house you choose at the beginning, the story of your adventure plays out a little bit differently. Nevertheless, the call for a New Game+ option from the community getting louder.
Fans want New Game+ for Hogwarts Legacy
Hogwarts Legacy fans are clamoring for one more and more on social media New Game+ mode for the action role-playing game from the Wizarding World. The reason for this is the partial lack of replay value.
While the title is designed to be played through at least four times – each with one of the four Hogwarts houses – some lack the motivation to start all over again.
The story plays out slightly differently depending on whether you’re in Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw or Slytherin – each with exclusive cutscenes – but the end of the story always remains the same. The biggest changes depending on the house are your cosmetic items such as capes or brooms, which are based on the colors of your house.
The biggest criticism fans have of the replay value is that with a new beginning of the story, all side activities like that Collecting the Demiguise statues for Gladwin Moon or all Merlin exams must be completed again.
Players want to keep their learned spells and item slots for a new run so they don’t have to go through the associated tasks over and over again.
Avalanche Software recently commented on the future of Hogwarts Legacy, stating that there are no DLC plans for the game yet. Whether this also includes a New Game+ option is difficult to say. Implementing New Game+ would take significantly less effort than creating a new questline.
Hogwarts Legacy is available now for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. The game will be released on April 4th, 2023 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and on July 25th, 2023 for the Nintendo Switch.
