In Pokémon GO there is a mini event every day at 12 noon – what is happening there?
In Pokémon GO, there is a mini-event every day at lunchtime. We at MeinMMO have looked at which event is involved and which monster you can get from it.
Which event is it about? For the past few days, Trainers have been reporting that they can encounter a number of spawns from a special monster for a short time around midday. But nothing was officially announced by the developers. So what is this mini-event that surprises the trainers? We explain it to you.
Daily mini-event with absol
What exactly happens at lunchtime? A mini-event started a few days ago at 12:00 p.m. local time. Because that’s exactly when the dark Pokémon Absol appears every day everywhere in the wild. But this doesn’t seem to be a game bug at all, because it is also displayed in the “Today” view of the game during this time under the name “A Grit Omen”.
Nevertheless, many players are surprised by the event. So does the reddit user VSenecal5528, who posts and writes a picture of the event on reddit (via reddit.com): “Does anyone know what this is supposed to be? It appeared for about a minute and then was over.”
How long do you find the spawns? You don’t have much time to catch the spawns, because the spawns are only active for 5 minutes and thus already disappear again at 12:05 p.m. You can then try your luck again the next day.
What does the event mean? Normally, Niantic announces the events in Pokémon GO in advance on social networks or their blog. However, that did not happen at the Absol event, which caused a lot of surprise among the trainers.
Since the big worldwide Hoenn tour starts at the weekend, it can be assumed that the Absol event is related to it. Because the Dark Pokémon could be understood as a harbinger of the upcoming Primal Raids with Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre.
According to its description, the 3rd generation Pokémon is usually relatively shy, but can use its horn to perceive changes in its environment, i.e. in the air and in the water, and thus foresee natural disasters. In this case, it tries to warn others about it (via pokewiki.de).
How much longer is the event running? How long you can still meet Absol is currently unknown. However, since the mini-event is supposed to be a small preview of the Hoenn Tour this weekend, we assume you’ll have until Friday, February 24th to catch the Dark-type Pokémon.
Should you use the mini event with Absol?
Is the Pokemon strong? The Dark Pokémon from the 3rd generation of games has no advancements or advancements. While it can benefit from a solid attack stat, it doesn’t make it among the best attackers in Pokémon GO. And also in the GO battle league, Absol is rather less interesting.
However, you can trigger a mega development in Absol that is stronger than Absol itself. This can be seen in raids as a strong dark attacker.
