Emiru and Asmongold “without irony” began broadcasting for money

“I started Twitch because I wanted money,” Asmongold explained bluntly. “No irony, that’s why I started streaming, I was making some money on Youtube but, man, ‘we really need to start making more money here’ and I started streaming on Twitch, and that’s how it happened.”

Emiru tells a similar story about the origins of his content creation, but adds some details that better explain the circumstances.
“For me, it was more or less the same because I was playing LoL a lot and also wanted a job at the time,” Emiru explains. “My friend said to me ‘why don’t you play LoL on Twitch? Some people get hundreds or thousands of dollars in donations’, and then I mean it worked.”
While streaming and content creation often mix a career and a hobby into one thing, at the end of the day it’s a career, so it’s no surprise that money earned becomes a huge motivating factor.
