Sons of The Forest has sold over 2 million copies in its first 24 hours of early access.

The survival game has already made the list of the top 20 players of all time on the independent Steam database, SteamDB.

That’s according to a tweet from developer Endnight Games.

“Thank you to those who have joined us on our early access journey to ‘Sons Of The Forest’”reads the tweet. “We’ve sold over 2 million copies in the first 24 hours and we’re very excited about what we have in store for players in the coming weeks.”

As of this writing, it is the fifth most played game on the platform in the last 24 hours, surpassing blockbusters like Hogwarts Legacy and Warzone 2.0.

“Sent to find a missing billionaire on a remote island, you find yourself in a cannibal-infested hell. Craft, build and fight to survive, alone or with friends, in this terrifying new open world survival horror sim.” it reads in the official description of the game.

The game is scheduled to be in Early Access for around 6-8 months, but according to the developers, “this could change.”

“We will leave early access when we are sure that this is the best possible version of the game,” reads a message on the Steam page.
