The survival game Sons of the Forest is currently swimming on a huge wave of success. Within just 24 hours of launch, it has already sold more than two million copies. It also started on the streaming platform Twitch last weekend enormous flight at. As has now become known, it is also available on Steam almost all survival competition almost no chance.
Sons of the Forest dominates on Steam
Shortly after launch, Sons of the Forest had more than 289,000 concurrent active players on Steam, which was temporarily for #1 on the retail charts in this category enough. However, in the meantime, this number increased again significantly. The currently valid peak is enclosed 414,257 concurrent active players and is from yesterday, Sunday (February 26). It’s not just one in and of itself impressive brandbut at the same time also means one Defeated almost all survival competition.
For comparison: The also popular survival game Rust at its peak “only” had a maximum of 245,243 players fighting through the adventure at the same time. No Man’s Sky reached 212,623 simultaneously active games at its best, subnautica just over 51,000. Only Valheim currently has a peak of over 502,000 users the nose just ahead.
It is therefore quite possible that Sons of the Forest could break this mark in the foreseeable future. After all, the survival game from the developer studio Endnight Games is currently still in the early access phase. Once the release version hits the market, it’s not out of the question the player peak climbs noticeably again. A concrete one release date however, there is not yet.
