Battle.net Launcher: New beta version brings two new features for us
The Battle.net launcher is the control center for all Blizzard games – including WoW, Overwatch and Diablo. The new beta version of the client now contains two new features, with at least one of them being very practical.
You haven’t even thought about it for years. If you want to enjoy WoW, Overwatch, Diablo or other games from Blizzard, you can start the Battle.net launcher automatically and select the game of your choice from the bar. Such a launcher used to be something special, today you are almost overwhelmed by the crowd. Every manufacturer wants to bring his own client to the people.
In principle, the launchers all offer similar features. Games library, shop, news – all in one place. The Battle.net launcher is no exception. In the beta version, two more features have now been integrated that we already know from one or the other client and that look good on the Blizzard version.
Home and last played
Feature number 1 is the new start page. In the future, you no longer have to click through the individual games if you want to get news from the Blizzard universe. The start page offers the most important innovations and information about all Blizzard games. Of course, not without being thrown at a bunch of offers from the various in-game shops.
Feature number 2 is “last played”. In addition to the list of all games, which you can still customize, there is now a field for recently played games. This is quite practical, as you can now get into your favorite game faster and don’t always have to navigate to the right field. It’s also worth mentioning that the launcher remembers which version of the game you started.

Sometimes that’s not very practical. If you’ve been on the WoW PTR for a while, try not to click on the WoW logo next to “last played” the next time you visit. Otherwise you will end up on the PTR again. Two separate icons might make sense here. On the whole, however, this should affect very few players.
In order to test the two new features, you must own the beta version of the Battle.net launcher. To activate this, go to the launcher settings and select Beta in the left menu. There you can switch to the beta version and try out the new features. It is not yet clear when these will be included in the normal version.
