The Mandalorian: Will Cara Dune be recast?

Two years ago, Lucasfilm and series creator Jon Favreau confirmed in an official statement that they never intendthe newly introduced character of the Cara Dune in the Star Wars universe to be filled again. As one of Rangers of the New Republic she was rumored to be playing in the spin-off, but that’s not going to happen either.

Director Rick Famuyiwa of the season 3 premiere commented:

Cara will remain a part of the world of The Mandalorian as a character. Her absence had to addressed from a creative perspective and Jon Favreau has taken the time to think about it. We talked about it because we knew it would impact the show.

Da Cara Dune as part of The Mandalorian’s main story no major role – after all, Mando and Grogu/Baby Yoda are at the center of the story – their omission shouldn’t leave a big gap. It can therefore be assumed that her character will continue to develop in the further course of the series, including those that have already been confirmed 4th season won’t matter anymore.
