Xbox Game Studios: Release of Hellblade 2 and Avowed after Starfield?
Starfield could be followed by Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 and Avowed, according to recent rumours.
Starfield, Fable 4, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 and Avowed are just a few of the games in development at Xbox Game Studios, all of which may be at different stages of progress.
The role-playing game Starfield is the closest to a publication. We will probably find out a release date in a separate showcase that has already been officially announced.
And while Phil Spencer recently said that GoldenEye-like announcements can still be expected before the big Xbox Showcase in June, the question arises: what comes after Starfield?
Andy Robinson, Editor-in-Chief at VGC, believes Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 and Avowed are the closest to being released.
Robinson said on the podcast, “Those are the next big things they’re going to talk about. As far as I know, these two are the closest.”
“It’s still pretty amazing that Fable is still miles away. Perfect Dark is not close. Everwild is not close. It’s easy to empathize with Xbox fans because it must be very frustrating for them too. Everything looks so great on paper and the games just aren’t finished yet.”
Reported insights into the development of Fable 4 are available from editor Jordan Miller. He heard a few years ago that Playgrund Games wasn’t sure what Fable should be.
“I’ve certainly had conversations about the Fable project that sounded like … at least between 2021 and 2022 there was a lot of bad management at play and not sure what this Fable was supposed to be.”
Interestingly, the term “Witcher-like” has been thrown around a lot in relation to Fable, Miller said, as he’s not sure fans would want an original Fable-style game.
