Resident Evil 4 Remake: Preload on Xbox Series X/S is live – you need that much storage space
The Resident Evil 4 Remake preload has started – at least on the Xbox consoles.
It’s still a few weeks before the release of the Resident Evil 4 remake, but you can already download the game, at least on the Xbox Series X/S. So we already know how big the download will be.
Resident Evil 4 Remake: preload and download size
- Preload launch on Xbox Series X/S: March 6, 2023
- Download size: 67.18GB
And what about PS4/PS5? So far, no preload date for the PlayStation version of Resident Evil 4 has been announced. We will of course update this article as soon as it is announced.
The size should be about the same as the Xbox version, with the PS4 version often taking up a few more gigabytes. With around 67 GB, Resident Evil 4 Remake is almost twice as large as its predecessor Resident Evil Village, which only needs 35 GB for the main game.

Resident Evil 4 – New gameplay from the remake and demo announced
Resident Evil 4 demo coming soon
If you can’t wait for the release of the horror shooter on PlayStation, you can jump into the game a few days beforehand. Shortly before the release, a demo for PS4 and PS5 should appear, even if we still have to wait for a specific date.
What awaits you in the remake: The new edition not only gives Resident Evil 4 a new look graphically, but also makes a lot of changes to the gameplay. So not only has the annoying mechanic been revised, with which you can save a kidnapped Ashley, there is also some completely new content. So we get to do it with a new opponent, but gets Leon but apparently also new weapons to hand.
You can read our detailed first impression of the game here in the preview of Resident Evil 4 Remake by colleague Chris.
