The Thaumaturge: Studio Behind Witcher Remake Works on Occult RPG – News
Fool’s Theory studio, formed by former CD Projekt RED developers, is known to be working on the remake of the first with CD Projekt’s creative oversight The Witcher in the form of an open-world RPG (aka Project Canis Majoris).
Recently, now with the Announcement trailer by The Thaumaturge also presented a standalone role-playing game by Fool’s Theory, which is distributed by 11 bit Studios. Soon after, another trailer with gameplay scenes was added, which you can find embedded under these lines.
The Thaumaturge becomes an isometric, story-driven RPG as you explore the streets of Warsaw in 1905 as a thaumaturge. Thanks to your magical talents, you can see so-called salutors and use the powers of demonic creatures to fight, or to manipulate people’s “states and tendencies”.
The Steam page boasts that The Thaumaturge will “completely rethink strategic combat, character development, and investigation mechanics.” The RPG will be available on Steam, GOG and also the Epic Games Store. However, there is currently no information as to when the title will be released.
