The second season of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 is about half over and just in time Infinity Ward and Raven Software have released a big mid-season update for the two shooters.

The patch has been available since 6 p.m. and should install itself automatically the next time you turn on your consoles:

  • Systems: PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, PC
  • Download size: approx. 13 GB (PS5), approx. 10 GB (Xbox Series X/S)
  • Accessible: From now on

The most important new content of Season 2 Reloaded updates at a glance

The Reloaded patch makes extensive adjustments to Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 and expands the games with a new map, a new weapon and a new raid for the Spec Ops mode, among other things. The most important new content at a glance:

  • Multiplayer Map (MW2): Himmelmatt Expo is a 6v6 map set in a European mountainous region.
  • Multiplayer Modes (MW2): A total of three modes are added. In Drop Zone you have to hold a point to trigger Care Packages, “One in the Chamber” is a Free4All mode in which all players only have one shot and three lives and in “All or Nothing” you play with throwing knives and an out of ammo pistol until someone reaches 20 kills.
  • Weapon (MW2 & Warzone 2): Tempus Torrent is a DMR that you can unlock by getting 24 double kills with DMRs.
  • Raid (MW2): The new Atomgrad raid episode is available
  • Events (War Zone 2): To celebrate Warzone 2’s third anniversary, there is an in-game giveaway available through the in-game store.

Season 2 Reloaded Update: English Patch Notes

Of course, the above content is only the most important additions for the two games. In addition, Infinity Ward and Raven Software have also packed numerous quality-of-life improvements and fixes for various areas of the games into the update. All changes to weapon balancing, ranked play, DMZ etc. can be found in the English patch notes on the official Call of Duty site.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 was released in late October 2022 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One and PC. The Free2Play title Warzone 2 followed a little later and started in November 2022. Both titles are now in their second season, and the start of the third is planned for April.

If you want to play Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer, you can do so for five days free of charge from March 16th. Then a FreeTrial phase starts, in which you can play a few modes and maps of the multiplayer mode – including the new map from the Reloaded update.
