Blizzard’s trading card game has always featured either a location, a villain, or a group of people for each new expansion. With Festival of Legends, Hearthstone developers are taking a new approach and taking music as the theme for the next card set.
The infamous ETC aka god of metal gathers the best musicians from across Azeroth to create the largest music festival in history. From rock to hip-hop and from metal to pop, every class performs. You go into battle with Harmony spells, your weapon is an instrument, and you finish off your opponent with a finale. The expansion also features a new mechanic for the Priest, though it has nothing to do specifically with Festival of Legends.
Cards with the Finale keyword gain special bonuses if you use up all of your remaining mana when playing them. Every good musician knows that you should end every show with a brilliant finale. Plan your moves like a setlist and end your performance with a grand finale!
Each class will receive its own legendary minion, who will be the star musician of that class and on which Festival of Legends occurs. Besides that each class receives a legendary spell that represents the musician’s most successful song. Perform your favorite song and become a music legend!
Whether they’re making tones from their ax or bow, each class gets a special instrument weapon card. Some of these weapons have a Deathrattle effect that increases while in play. It’s good manners to reinforce them!
Harmony spells alternate between Harmony and Dissonance modes each turn they’re in your hand. Do you keep to the beat or do you have your own? Follow the rhythm and get the most out of them!
Everyone loves a great solo performance. Soloists are minions with special effects if you control no other minions. Clear the stage and let them show what they can do!
We’re putting a band together! Log in Hearthstone (buy now €0.00 ) one to make preparations for that Festival of Legends to start with your free legendary card Band Manager ETC!* Every good band needs a manager. ETC lets you choose your best threesome when building your deck. When the manager calls, they listen! The casting starts now. Who makes it into your band?
* Only once per account. Some cards cannot be banded by Band Manager ETC. After Patch 26.6, the Band Manager ETC is unlocked upon opening your first Festival of Legends card pack instead of logging in.
Distinctive cards also lay in the Festival of Legends a great performance! The distinctive cards Festival of Legends feature new golden animations, a bold color scheme, and thinner frames to let you see more of the special alternate graphics. Also, the map text has been removed and is now shown in a tooltip when you mouse over the map. So the graphics are now in the limelight. Distinctive cards off Festival of Legends can be made from normal or gold packs of Festival of Legends or obtained in special ways such as events and the rewards path.*
As of patch 26.0, all prominent cards (even those from March of the Lich King) have the usual anti-duplicate protections and can be disenchanted (but not crafted, wanting them to still feel super rare and special). Check out the 26.0 patch notes for more details on the new and improved distinctive cards.
Priests are getting a new evergreen expansion for their class this year, starting with the Festival of Legends set and the core set! Minions with overheal trigger a special effect when healed past their maximum health. Here, the legendary musician of the priests, Heartbreaker Hedanis, showcases his technique with this class-specific keyword.
