Resident Evil 4 Demo Hides an Ultra Hard Mode – Here’s How to Unlock It!

Exclusive Mad Chainsaw Mode difficulty

The so-called “Mad Chainsaw Mode” is only included in the demo and makes the game much more challenging. Unlocking it will require either luck or patience, as this difficulty level is usually activated at random.

For one, you can get access to it once you’ve played the demo to the end. If you come back to the start screen and start a “New Game”, it can happen that with a bit of luck you will then be offered the “Mad Chainsaw Mode” for a single demo run.

Alternatively, you can also try to start a new game again and again and, with a little patience, trigger the level of difficulty. Keep in mind that this is a purely random number generator and there is therefore no fixed number of restarts. So it can be quick or it can take a long time.

Of course you can also decline the offer of the “Mad Chainsaw Mode” and then have to wait for a new chance if you want a more difficult playthrough.
