Diablo 4 roadmap: DLSS 2 in beta, DLSS 3 at launch, and ray tracing at some point

Nvidia DLSS 2 and Reflex will be onboard for the launch of the Diablo 4 beta, which will allow players to smash their way through the prologue and the first act of the world of Sanctuary from March 17th to 19th. According to Blizzard, Nvidia DLSS 3 with frame generation should be available in time for the start of the action role-playing game on June 6, while real-time ray tracing should only be integrated “at some point” later.

Nvidia DLSS 3 should be ready for release

As Blizzard and Nvidia have already officially announced, DLSS 3 will only be integrated into the dark action role-playing game on June 6th. The developers would thus also take into account the system requirements of the final version, which are likely to be (significantly) higher than assumed.

The supposedly low system requirements for the Diablo 4 beta come at the cost of graphics limitations. So the minimum requirements only apply to 1080p “native” resolution, 720p “rendered” resolution and the minimum graphics settings at 30 frames per second.

Diablo 4 will also get ray tracing “eventually”.

DLSS 3 could become a big topic for Diablo 4 players at the latest when real-time ray tracing, which is neither integrated in the beta nor for the release in June, makes its way into the game. Currently, Blizzard has not announced more than the maximum requirements for 1080p, 60 fps and the medium level of detail.

It is still unclear when ray tracing will be found in Diablo 4. The developers only vaguely say that the feature will be integrated into the game “at some point”. There is also little information about the Battle Pass or the shop integrated in the game. After the disaster with Diablo Immortal, which caused negative reviews in particular due to its gambling mechanisms, the publisher is still keeping the entire topic of monetization completely under wraps for the time being.
