Gamescom 2023 with 10% more exhibitors and comeback of a ‘big company’
gamescom 2023 should offer even more exhibitors and a big comeback.
gamescom is slowly but surely getting back on its feet. After a break due to Corona, the trade fair in Cologne returned last year. One of the biggest gaming events of all awaits you again this year. The makers now explain that we can probably look forward to even more.
Apparently, gamescom 2023 will be significantly larger than it was in 2022. At least if the registrations of the exhibitors continue as before.
All information about gamescom 2023 can be found here in this GamePro post:
10% more registrations: A statement by the organizers of gamescom 2023 states that 10% more exhibitors than last year have already registered in the so-called early bird phase.
This Early Bird phase enables game companies to register for a booth at the fair early on. The advance commitment is rewarded with discounted prices. Of course, this can always be done later, but it can show tendencies.
Who is in it? This has not yet been revealed. So far there have been no announcements about the individual exhibitors and which companies are coming and which are not. Of course, that should happen well before the start of the fair.
A big name returns: The same statement by Koelnmesse CEO Oliver Frese also states that at least one major comeback is imminent. One of the big companies that didn’t show up last year would be coming back to gamescom this year.
“Without giving too much away, I promise the community can look forward to one or two big companies that weren’t there last year.”

Who could that be? Two candidates come to mind: Both Sony and Nintendo stayed away from the last gamescom in 2022. So it could well be that one of these two companies (or maybe even both) will make a comeback at gamescom 2023. However, we already know that neither of them will be at E3 2023.
Which big names are you dying to see at gamescom 2023, what are you hoping for?
