Change of boss at Amazon’s streaming platform Twitch
There is a change in management at the Amazon subsidiary Twitch. Longtime boss Emmett Shear will resign effective immediately, the streaming platform said.
“In October 2006 we started working on live video for the web. This became Twitch. More than 16 years later, I’m a father and ready to move into the next phase of my life,” Shear wrote on Twitter. He will be succeeded by Dan Clancy, who has been with the company since 2019. Shear will continue to be available as a consultant. Twitch is a (live) streaming platform that is particularly popular with those interested in video games. It is one of the most popular in the world alongside YouTube and allows streamers and viewers to interact via live chat.
