Patch 1.05 brought numerous improvements to Hogwarts Legacy. For example, an annoying character became a little more bearable or an overpowered spell combination received a nerf. But a secret change in the patch, which initially sounds a bit banal, makes a fan very happy.
JK Rowling’s transphobia: The success of Hogwarts Legacy indirectly benefits Harry Potter author JK Rowling, who participates through existing publishing rights and the associated sale of the books. Rowling continues to be active in anti-LGBTQIA+ rhetoric and actively supports anti-trans policies in the UK. If you want to find out more about the topic, you will find a summary of the most important controversies surrounding Hogwarts Legacy here.
Secret fix makes roofs accessible
On Reddit, a user reveals that two roofs are now accessible that could not be controlled before. Access to the rooftops isn’t part of the update 1.05 patch notes, but luckily the observant fan shared the discovery with us:

In the comments, a user writes that it was already possible to land on the first roof shown. The two users suspect that there could be a difference between the console and PC versions.
But the difference is that the thread creator tried to land on the roof with a hippogriff. With the broom this should have been possible before.
What’s so special about it? There are no hidden chests or collectible items on the roof. Only in Sirius Black’s prison cell is there a small thing hidden, but we can get to it without having to land on the roof. Instead, the player used the first roof shown to reenact a specific scene from Harry Potter.
All other changes of the patch at a glance:
In the film, Sirius Black is in Hogwarts Prison Tower. Harry rides Buckbeak to the rescue of Sirius, landing on this very roof. Since the fan wanted to recreate the scene authentically, he used a hippogriff that absolutely didn’t want to land on the roof. But with the patch he can finally replay the experience.
Astronomy Tower roof remains inaccessible
The users would be happy about a certain roof: The players* have long wished to be able to land on the astronomy tower. Unfortunately, with the new patch, it is still not possible to land on the roof of the tower with a broom.
We’ll have to wait and see if the development team decides to allow us to land on the Astronomy Tower in a future patch. Until then, we must explore other corners of the magic school to pass the time.
