Sony admits Game Pass is way ahead of PlayStation Plus
In a recent statement to the UK Markets and Competition Authority, sony has stated that he believes that Microsoft he is ahead with his service xbox game pass in comparison with Playstation Plus.
In the statement, Sony admits “Without a doubt, Game Pass is far ahead of PlayStation Plus” when it comes to market share. Sony made the admission as part of the argument that Microsoft has an incentive to increase the price of call of duty if its acquisition of Activision Blizzard were to go through.
Sony has also stated that this would incentivize Microsoft to downgrade future releases of PlayStation of Call of Duty, and make the games available only through Game Pass. Microsoft would also be incentivized to make call of duty be available on PlayStation Plus at a “commercially unviable price, making it de facto exclusive,” according to Sony.
The admission came in a recent response that Sony had submitted to the CMA, along with responses submitted by Microsoft about its investigative attempt to acquire Activision Blizzard.
Microsoft has submitted responses to the CMA’s preliminary findings, and says Sony’s position is “a self-serving attempt to protect its dominant market position.” Microsoft also claims the CMA has made a “fundamental and obvious error” in its impact calculations pic.twitter.com/v7wMKrTXjV
