Stadia: Google denies imminent discontinuation
Does Google Stadia still have a future? Yes, says Google. At the very least, the company denies current rumors that they are planning a hiring.
Previously it was claimed Stadia could be shut down by the end of the summer. The claim came from a Facebook group, and the information was allegedly from a Google employee. The well-known Twitter account “Killed by Google” picked this up again.
The company denies
In response to a Twitter user’s enquiry, the official Stadia account wrote: “Stadia will not be shut down. Rest assured that we are always working to bring more great games to the platform and Stadia Pro. Let us know if you do have more questions.”
Given that Stadia releases are still planned beyond the summer, the information didn’t seem entirely solid either.
On September 30, 2022, FIFA 23 should be released for Google Stadia.

Last but not least, the company parodies the original rumor with another tweet, which basically goes something along the lines of “my uncle works at XYZ”.
In short: No, Google Stadia will not be scrapped at the end of the summer.
Just a heads up
Old coworker of mine is now one of the social managers for Google. They had a pretty large seminar in California this past weekend, and long story short you now can play Wavetale at no additional cost on Stadia Pro until August 1: https://t.co/2O6P0Kd8Kd pic.twitter.com/Hjo0pvARKx
