What are you going to play this weekend? (September 25) – Talking Point
[ad_1]
Well, it’s been a week of Nintendo Direct! Mario’s new voice has been revealed, Brewster is back in Animal Crossing, Kirby has become the last of us in his next 3D adventure and, the biggest news of all, Banjo is returning to a Nintendo console thanks to the inclusion. Banjo-Kazooie on upcoming N64 additions to Nintendo Switch Online. Eekum bokum!
After all that, it’s time to relax and discuss our weekend game plans. Some mThe Embers of the Nintendo Life team have done exactly that below, so feel free to read our posts and then join yours via our comment section. Enjoy!

I’m currently back on The Great Ace Attorney, which is weird and wonderful and a very relaxing time. Some of the same terms could be used for Eastward, which I learned last week and am really enjoying, it’s a game full of heart.
In another place i’m playing Marvel Avengers, that game in which everyone immerses themselves because their routine is boring. Since I got it cheap and am only interested in the content of the campaign, however, I am having a good time (maybe helped by the fact that it is the ‘next-gen enhanced’ version); It’s a classic 7/10 game, but I enjoy mindless action after long hours of work.

This weekend I’m practically LOADED with games: Beast Breaker, Eastward, and maybe even some games on the old SNES, which we installed recently. It’s a retro-palooza!
I also have little criticism this week, finally, so I will be able to play some of my pending works: Islanders, Slime Rancher, and maybe even a bit of Subnautica to break up all the soft farmer-type games. I’m EXTREMELY excited it’s fall so I can cozy up with my Switch by the fireplace (which is just an animated pixel fireplace, but still) with some hot cocoa and some COZY SOCKS. Hell yes.

Hey people! Like many this weekend, I will be playing through the newly announced Castlevania Advance Collection. I have to support Konami for releasing this set; Any move to make older games more accessible to new audiences is a huge win in my opinion. You can practically hear eBay sellers yelling in frustration …
That’s it for Switch this weekend, but I’ll also dive back into Death stranded on PS5 now that Director’s Cut has been released; Can’t wait to walk a bit!
Gonçalo Lopes, reviewer
I’m still replaying my Front Mission campaign along with a quick dash of Cruis’n Blast here and there. Good time in Castlevania Advance Collection as, as I mentioned earlier, Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow needs to be revisited. However, the most important task this weekend is to clear the entire schedule for the next ZDR planetary excursion.
The game of the week is the aptly named ActRaiser Renaissance. It is 2021 and there is a main title screen on my giant TV with the words “Quintet” and “Yuzo Koshiro” in the fine print at the bottom copyright. The new orchestration of the soundtrack alone is worth the price of admission. Maybe this isn’t the darkest timeline after all …
As always, thanks for reading! Be sure to leave us a comment below with your weekend game plans!
