Ghost Recon Frontline, new F2P FPS for 100 players, announced by Ubisoft


Ubisoft’s next Ghost Recon game is something different: it’s a free, player-versus-player-focused first-person shooter with support for over 100 players. Is named Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Frontlineand it will be piloted next week in select territories.

Ubisoft Bucharest, which developed Tom Clancy’s HAWX games and co-developed other Tom Clancy titles, is leading the development of Ghost recon frontline. The studio aims to combine the tactical military action of the nearly 20-year-old Ghost Recon franchise and the massive engagements of the Battle Royale genre.

Players will have to work together to complete dynamic objectives on a huge open world map located on an island called Drakemoor, which is home to a variety of biomes.

Players will not only be tasked with eliminating each other in Expedition, but will instead collect and protect information. They can even interrogate downed enemies to learn the location of enemy teammates. After completing their mission, they will fight for survival while calling in an extraction team to escape with said information.

Players will have a variety of tactical tools at their disposal, and Ubisoft Bucharest says there are different paths to victory. Players will be able to “reshape” the battlefield, summoning vehicles, automatic turrets and dynamic cover, including sniper towers on demand, through airdrops. Frontline It is “built on the core values ​​of Ghost Recon,” the developers said, allowing players to create their own solutions to resolve situations.

Ghost recon frontline will offer a variety of classes of players, known as contractors. Ubisoft hinted at three types of contractors that will be available at launch: Assault, which offers great sustainability in close quarters fights; support, which offers protection with fortification skills; and scout, who can recognize areas to reveal and annoy enemies.

Ubisoft said other “faster” modes are coming to Ghost recon frontline, as well as additional contractors, as part of a planned and ongoing seasonal update model for the free game.
