In the world of Destiny 2This time of year also means the start of the Festival of the Lost. A free event where the citizens of the Last City celebrate the lives of those who have lost. Imagine a combination of Day of the Dead and Halloween and you’ll start to get closer to the vibe.
Oh, dinosaurs too. Did I mention there are dinosaurs this year? This year there are dinosaurs.
In addition to prehistoric rock stars, there’s a new combo activity called Haunted Sectors, new cosmetics to collect, a new pulse rifle, and the introduction of a new story-filled feature called Book of the Forgotten. Sounds like your cup of tea cocoa? Cold. Let’s get creepy.
Haunted sectors
New in 2021, Haunted Sectors is a three-player paired activity that challenges the Guardians to face three different terrifying stories. Perhaps your fire team is facing headless creatures on the Moon, or perhaps you travel to Nessus, where a Guardian is on the run, being hunted by his Ghost. In the third Enchanted Sector, an Exo and Vex Mind have merged and, like Frankenstein’s Monster, have become something new and are very… alive. Survive every spooky scenario and sweets won’t be the only thing sweetening your success.
It pays to be brave
This year introduces new cosmetics, paper skins, dinosaur armor ornaments, and (with our obsession with dinosaurs rampant) even a new dinosaur-themed weapon. Harness unprecedented power since the Mesozoic era with the new Jurassic Green Pulse Rifle. Perform miniature extinction events with each press of the trigger as you get closer to the new exotic sparrow.
No Festival of the Lost would be complete without the right costumes and this year is no exception. Everyone’s favorite and eye-catching papercraft skins are back! If you missed any of your favorites from previous years, you will have a chance to collect them along with some great new ones.

Team Dino
At the beginning of the year, we were at a crossroads. An impossible choice with two correct answers … or so we think. We needed to choose between two different armor trims to add to the game, and even within the studio, there was no deal in sight. So we ask the community to save the day by choosing one for us.
The fight was fierce and the discussion on social media was lively. But in the end, it was the triumphant roar of #TeamDino that rang out through the streets of Last City.

Book of the forgotten
A new feature focusing on the tradition of the Festival of the Lost makes its debut this year. The new Book of the Forgotten can be found in the Tower and is sadly incomplete. That’s where you come in. Collect lost pages, unlock new stories, and immortalize Festival of the Lost 2021 with a complete tome.
