Let’s get a happy home designer in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

So, unlike most people, I have played Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer. I don’t blame those of you who didn’t, it’s a weird little derivative that wears off pretty quickly and lacks the liveliness of Animal Crossing itself, but … well … there’s something special about it anyway.

It’s true that I played Happy Home Designer because I was paid out for. Back in my day, I checked it for the Guardian, and this is what he had to say:

“It’s a huge improvement on the otherwise great home design elements in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, with more stuff, more options, more features, and a much better interface to actually place furniture, going from dragging the sofa to a simpler style. Top-down grid that allows you to select, drop and rotate with the stylus. “

But unfortunately, the home decor look without the life simulator look gets a bit boring, after a while:

“Like the numpties at Grand Designs, Happy Home Designer doesn’t really know what he wants and suffers from it. It can’t be the newest Animal Crossing, it’s too small. It’s a pretty good, albeit simple, home decor game, but not as a full and standalone release. It’s a life simulator that doesn’t let you have a life.

If this was an episode of Grand Designs, and I was Kevin McCloud, I would turn to the camera right now and say, “Well, it’s not exactly what we all wanted, but … I guess it will do.” Roll your eyes Roll credits. “

(Don’t worry too much about all Great designs references. I was on a topic.)

Long story short though: Happy Home Designer was pretty much a testing ground for New Horizons’ vastly improved home décor stuff, though it was also adapted into Animal Crossing: New Leaf as well. And, like HHD, ACNH focuses almost entirely on the interior design aspect, and not much on the life simulation stuff, which is part of the reason so many people are a bit bummed out of the game. , almost two years after launch.

But here’s an idea: What if we had Happy Home Designer skills in Animal Crossing: New Horizons?

While writing the article “What would you like to see from The Animal Crossing Direct” today, I saw a couple of people online talking about how much they would like to decorate other villagers’ houses. I do not even considered the idea, until suddenly all i could think about.

Skull moon! Everybody wants a skull moon
Skull moon! Everybody wants a skull moon

Imagine that Tom Nook, one day, starts telling you about a friend of his. They used to run a business together, and now that friend wants to move to this beautiful island paradise to set up a store again. The name of that friend? Lyle. Your business? Home decoration.

But your house is already decorated … so what is your job? Decorate OTHER PEOPLE’S HOUSES. FINALLY. I’ve visited enough villagers’ houses to know that their sense of style is absolutely pants, and I would have given anything to help my initial villagers achieve something a little better than their initial houses. Plus, I keep giving Kyle instruments, and he keeps putting them in stupid places, like an idiot. LET ME HELP YOU, MY SWEET AND STUPID FRIENDS.

Kyle, you're a himbo. I love you but let me help you
Kyle, you’re a himbo. I love you but let me help you

So Lyle and Lottie move into town, and maybe even Isabelle’s brother Digby, and help you tear down and build other people’s houses from the inside out. Maybe we could even add rooms to the villagers’ houses, since we all have too much money and nothing to spend it on! I don’t mind paying other people’s mortgages! I am loaded and generous !!

I know people are asking for more urgent additions to Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and I understand that, and I agree. I would also like to see more fish, insects, and furniture. But imagine how much the game would change: the ability to decorate every house on the island! One use for all that furniture we’ve been hoarding! And, best of all, a way to bring all other houses to an acceptable level!

What do you mean, “Kate, you’re the type of person who has a problem with control”? No shut up.

Diana, you are beautiful, but you live in a bathroom. Let's go.

You agree with me? Would it be a good idea and would it attract him again? Let us know in the usual place!
