Animal Crossing: New Horizons: All returning special characters

[ad_1]

New

Well that was a packed Animal Crossing Direct, wasn’t it? Here at NLHQ, we’re all frantically trying to write down the ten billion things that were just announced in that 20-minute showcase, and our fingers are almost falling off already.

For now, though, let’s take a look at all the new, returning, and improved special characters for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, as well as some that we probably won’t see …

New and Recurring Characters

With the new and improved Harv’s Island shopping update, the islands of Kapp’n, The Roost, and the Happy Home Paradise DLC, many characters will return to the world of Animal Crossing. Let’s see who has been confirmed so far:

Brewster

Ah, we already knew, but it’s good to finally see him in the meat pens. Who is a pretty bird?

Wardell

I can’t say we expected this, but Wendell the Walrus seems to have a manatee relative named Wardell. It is extremely cute, round and soft, like a large sea marshmallow. It seems to have something to do with the Happy Home Paradise DLC.

LOOK AT HIS LITTLE HAT.

Lottie

The Happy Home Paradise DLC also includes Lottie, Lyle’s niece, who ran the store at Happy Home Designer, the Happy Home Academy at New Leaf, and was a generally creepy (but helpful) insurance agent in Wild World. However, it does not appear to be here; perhaps, like Joan, he retired to let the new generation carry on. However, Lottie is adorable. We can’t see ourselves missing Lyle.

Nobody

Who is this little monkey? It’s all over the place in the Happy Home Paradise images … but we haven’t seen it before. A new friend?? According to the new amiibo cards, his name is Niko, and we’ll presumably find out more soon.

Kapp’n

Screenshot (17)

Kapp’n triumphantly returns as a ferryman, taking players to new and uninhabited islands where the time of day, the weather, and the season are different each time. That means that it is much easier to catch insects and fish when you are not in the right conditions at home!

Kappn also has a trunk full of sea huts to sing along to, which, if New Leaf is anything to go through, contains lyrics with a surprising number of tales related to the wife and who once did tax evasion.

Tortimer

Screenshot (23)

Joan and Lyle are nowhere to be seen, but their partner Tortimer is still kicking. The former mayor and current turtle can be visited on Harv’s Island, where it looks like he will manage the storage, maybe so you can still access the storage while you shop?

Harriet

Screenshot (20)

Sleek and stylish poodle Harriet returns as part of Harv’s Island’s new shopping experience, bringing some new hairstyles too. There are 11 new styles to try, but it’s unclear how many of them are from Harriet and how many are from the new Nook Points reward.

Gyroscopes

Screenshot (66)

Listen, if Lloid counts as a character, then so do these little ones who sing and dance. Sure, they’re part statue, part decoration, part creepy votive, and part … planting (you’ll have to plant, water, and grow them), but we love them and are so happy to see them. again. Also, they are now customizable and come in some pretty beautiful new designs.

Katrina

Screenshot (22)

The panther guesses and occasionally yells she’s back, ready to tell you various nonsense about your future. In the past, their luck has affected the game a bit: they can make the villagers more or less like you; they can make the player get more bells or rare items; But if Katrina gives you bad luck, you will have bad luck for a while, causing you to fall a lot.

Updates to existing special characters

Some of the special characters we’ve had in New Horizons for a while will also receive new features as part of this update!

Lloid handsome and mustachioed?

Who is he? We’ve seen Lloid around town, raising funds for various projects, but the Harv’s Island version seems to follow in Harv’s hippie footsteps with a rather handsome mustache. Lloid, we like this new look.

Redd

Redd2.PNG

Redd now has a permanent-looking art store on Harv’s Island, which means you no longer have to wait for infrequent visits from your spooky little boat. Hurrah!

Sharah

Saharah.PNG

Honestly, Saharah’s visits, especially if you have friends who will alert you when she’s on her island, seem to be the most frequent of all the special characters, but it’s nice to see her settle on Harv’s Island anyway.

Leif

Leif.PNG

We love Leif’s cart that he takes to the plaza from time to time, but we’ve missed his New Leaf store. Fortunately, Harv has room for him too, so we’ll be able to buy plants more often!

Reese and Cyrus

Leif.PNG

The married couple have already been in the game as Wedding Seasons hosts, but now they’ve also reverted to their old ways, helping you create and personalize furniture. “But I can do that already,” you yell, well, the furniture that can be customized will be different and can only be customized with it. For some reason. You can find them both on Harv’s Island!

Kicks

Kciks.PNG

Kicks may appear in the plaza from time to time, selling shoes, socks and bags after the Able Sisters CRUELLY took over the only clothing store in town, but now he too will get a chance to kick it on Harv’s Island.

Who is still missing?

Some folks have favorites that aren’t in the game yet, and we don’t blame you … but we probably won’t see these unless Nintendo has a few surprises up its sleeve. Although they might visit The Roost …

Missing

Digby

Isabelle’s little brother, in the past, was linked to Happy Home Academy, but we didn’t see him in Happy Home Paradise. Maybe the puppies fell off?

Pelly, Phyllis and Pete

The three postal pelicans have not been seen since New Leaf … and not even mentioned on New Horizons. So who was mail?!?!

White

Not everyone will miss the puzzling blank-faced cat, which I’d ask you to draw on her face, but … well … she’s not here anymore.

Booker and Copper

Do we really need cops on an island paradise? No. But at least they could run Lost and Found like they used to …

Restart

Whether you like the angry mole or not, it would be nice to see his face again or visit him in his little underground hole.

Gracie

Gracie has been almost entirely replaced by Label, so we’re not likely to see her beautiful long neck anytime soon.

Kapp’n’s Family (Leilani, Leila and Grams)

Since we host Kapp’n … maybe we’ll meet his wife, daughter and mom? These three kappas ran Tortimer Island and the gift shop in New Leaf, so they could go back … or they could be at home, having enriched themselves with all the money you spent on Tortimer’s Island.

So, there you have it: tons of new animal friends, arriving on your Nintendo Switch on November 5. Some are only available in paid DLC, of course, but let us know what you think of the new additions and if you really miss some of the unconfirmed ones in the comments below as well.
