Grounded just got hotter and more risky

Today the Grounded The team released the most extensive update for the backyard with the Hot and Hazy update. From new biomes, new areas to explore, a handful of new bugs, and some great new gameplay mechanics to help with playstyle customization, the biggest addition to the backyard is hands down one of the best.

Delving into the update with the new Sandbox biome, this area brings the heat, as a sizzling new mechanic is exclusively introduced in this new area … for now. Explore the desert landscape during the day and players will slowly grill unless they can find shade or the right gear to counter it. So why explore during the day when you could wait for night to fall and not burn yourself out? You’ll miss out on the bright sparkles in the sand that can only be seen during blazing sunlight, and that can only mean one thing – treasure! Make the new shovel and go out and find that loot. Although, treasure is not the only thing buried in this area, as players will now come face to face here with one of the strongest enemies so far; the ant lion. These new creatures love to eat two things in this world: ants and YOU. To be prepared!

Speaking of ants, the recently added Black Ant Hill is now open for players to enter. This anthill is the first mega dungeon that players can explore as they make their way through the corridors of the forgotten laboratory below. The Haze area has been updated to make it, well, more hazy. A thick cloud of herbicide descends on this biome, leaving players without gas masks without air. However, players who come prepared will find that the hidden laboratory in this area has some secrets to unravel as a reward for those who enter and discover them.

The universe in Grounded It is also expanding as more brands have been introduced into the game in some new areas. The picnic table has been opened and players will now be able to explore this once-a-favorite play area with pieces from the latest in tabletop role-playing games, Minotaur and Myrmidons vol.
