We spent another week, well done everyone! There was a mixed list of news this week, with one of the slightly disappointing stories being allegations of mismanagement practices at Metroid Dread developer MercurySteam, but on happier news, we also had Sora’s arrival at Smash, we confirmed that Crysis Remastered Trilogy does. in fact, it runs on Switch, Nintendo gave us Vampire Waluigi, and GTA Trilogy was dated and detailed for Switch. However, in slightly disappointing news, Advance Wars 1 + 2: Re-Boot Camp was delayed until spring 2022.

After all that, it’s time to relax and discuss our weekend game plans. Some mThe Embers of the Nintendo Life team have done exactly that below, so feel free to read our posts and then join yours via our comment section. Enjoy!

I’ve been running around Metroid Dread for a second game trying to get through it ‘quickly’ to unlock more. I am not a speedrunner, but I have enjoyed a more direct and action oriented race, which is almost over. I’m also tempted to grab a couple of retro goodies at Capcom Arcade Stadium now that they can be purchased individually, and I rebooted Hollow Knight once more with the goal of finishing it.

In another place I’ve been playing Mass Effect Legendary Edition, which is the first time I play. The former is a bit wacky (as suggested by various reviews) but I’m eager to see why the trilogy of games (the latter in particular) has been talked about so much over the years.

Hello. This weekend, after two full weeks of hammering the Metroid Dread, I’m going to turn things around and get stuck on Disco Elysium: The Final Cut, and also try to progress a bit more on Corey Martin’s Bonfire Peaks, an excellent indie. puzzle game you really need to check out.

Disco Elysium is easily one of my favorite games of recent years and I am really impressed with the Switch port so far. Yes, there are some long loading times to wait, but this amazing RPG is worth having to play on the go.

On the other hand, I also bought the Aryton Senna DLC for Horizon Chase Turbo, a racer that looks absolutely stunning on the OLED switch, and it’s just a really slick and heartfelt tribute to the legendary driver of the game’s Brazilian developers. Have a good weekend!

Hey people! With everyone suddenly talking about Animal Crossing: New Horizons again, I’ve decided to go back to my island one more time and see what is what. The only problem is, I forgot I had started from scratch a few months ago, so I’m still right at the beginning of the game with just a tent and a flashlight to call my own!

In another place, I have decided to return to the world of Dying light in Series X before the sequel’s release. It is a cookie; such a well made world. Have a nice one, everyone!

My mission to ZDR has been completed, so now I am left with a huge void of nothing in my life. Hopefully, it won’t take Nintendo another two decades to deliver more of Samus Aran’s adventures in her 2D adventures. I’m still playing through the Horizon Chase Turbo – Senna Forever expansion, there’s never been a better time to get back in the game than now. Career mode is quite a challenge worth investing in, but some of those career goals are difficult to achieve.

The movie of the decade is DUNE Part One. I’d rather say I’d play a DUNE I’m playing on Switch this weekend, but … there isn’t one. No, Fortnite does not count!

I have every intention of getting more stuck on Metroid Dread this weekend. I just beat Kraid and am amazed at how fluid the game feels compared to previous games in the series. I really feel like it might be difficult to come back after sliding down ZDR. I’ve also really enjoyed Tetris Effect: Connected and have also walked through the surprisingly moving LEGO Builder’s Journey.

Beyond that, I bought Hob for peanuts from the eShop last week, so I’d like to research that if I have time. However, I must admit that I have been randomly going through some of my installed games and turning them on, so watch them on the OLED Switch. They are all so purdy.

As always, thanks for reading! Be sure to leave us a comment below with your weekend game plans!
