Path of Exile: Scourge Expansion is now available for free

We just launched Path of Exile: Scourge It contains everything a classic ARPG represents: terrifying demons, impending danger, cool elements, and powerful ways to build your characters.

When you arrive at Wraeclast, a hooded figure appears seemingly out of nowhere, terrified and asking for your help. He is encouraged to embed a rusty-looking device into his body known as the Crucible of Blood. When you kill enemies, the Crucible fills with their Blood. When a threshold is reached, you can activate the Crucible of Blood which will temporarily push you into a parallel reality where some kind of apocalyptic event is taking place.

Corruption permeates this reality and hurts you if you delay too long. Place items in the Crucible of Blood to take advantage of this corruption. Once you’ve absorbed enough corruption, you can transform your items to receive powerful upgrades. But be careful, corruption will give your articles an advantage and a disadvantage in unpredictable ways. Don’t worry though, you can put them back in the Crucible up to three times and try again for more powerful effects.

If you want to turn back time, summon giant tornadoes, or turn your weapons into glowing energy blades, we have a gift for you. Along with the launch of the Scourge expansion, we’re introducing tons of exciting new abilities to help you decimate the ravenous hordes! Also, if you like to play with your friends, we have added six special abilities that allow you to bond and help each other.

Thats not all! We have given you the iconic Path of exile Skill tree a makeover in Scourge. Everything will look familiar, but now you have even more ways to create cool new characters with passive skill masteries. Become the best weapon bearer in Wraeclast or master the arcane arts; the choice is yours and the possibilities are endless.

Killing demons and creating awesome characters is hard work, so we’ve made a ton of improvements to the guilds! Now you can hang out with your squad in your own guild hideouts and gather your stacks of items in the recently added guild versions of popular stash tabs.
