Roundup: 18 Intriguing Switch Kits Showcased At QUByte Connect 2021

[ad_1]

QUByte Interactive is an editor that is undoubtedly very busy, and it certainly produces some intriguing titles across all platforms. He’s also a big supporter of the Switch, and his QUByte Connect 2021 showcase featured a lot of titles for the system.

We’ve already covered the return of the much-loved Neo Geo Tag team fighter Rage of the Dragons, but here’s a full list (with trailers) of some other Switch games featured on the show.

So, let’s get into it.

Colonias Project: MARS 2120 (Summer 2022)

Described as a 2.5D side-scrolling action adventure with metroidvania design, it may stylistically remind you of a recent hit on Nintendo’s Switch. But As an independent effort, it looks promising, certainly with further optimization and development underway before its arrival next year. Fighting a bunch of monsters as an elite marine can certainly be fun, so we’ll definitely keep an eye on it.

Grip force Rena

If you see the name ‘GalaxyTrail’ and think it looks familiar, that’s because it is. In fact, this is from the team behind Freedom Planet; in fact, this was originally an experimental title on itch.io, but has now been revived and reworked as a mainstream game (long since released on Steam). It also looks pretty neat, as you’ll be putting the claw mechanics to work in a number of ways; we will be attentive to more updates.

Wild dogs

We think there is a lot to like about this one. With Game Boy Color-style palettes, varied playstyles, bosses filling the screen, and a section where a playable dog jumps onto a mech, it has it all. Hopefully the end result will be as good as the trailer.

Milli & Greg (Available Now – NA)

A classic ‘available now’ part of the stream, at the time of writing it is available in the North American eStore, but not yet in the European store. This is a low-priced platformer that doesn’t seem shy about raising the challenge level, and the game maybe looks like a mix of Super Meat Boy and Celeste. With over 100 levels, it might well be worth checking out.

Opus Castle (‘Soon’)

Perhaps an intriguing one if you like horror that refers to real locations, with the description saying that it is a ‘narrative based on the real tragic story of the little castle on Apa Street, located in the city of São Paulo, Brazil’. It doesn’t really seem like a game to attract new players to the genre, but for fans of first-person ghost festivals it could certainly be entertaining.

Be hero

The world is not short of farming / farming RPGs, but that doesn’t mean new entries in the genre can’t charm us. This seems to have a lot of familiar elements, although the story could be funny: It is about “an aspiring hero who is late for the final battle and needs to work in a tavern to get home.”

Well done

It’s not the easiest game to crack in the trailer, which presents it as a surreal tale of a ‘lost game’ from a retro system. Here is the official description to add a bit of sense to the concept: “Bem Feito is a horror, creepypasta, suspense, adventure and a mix of Alternate Reality Game (ARG), which uses some references from fiction and the real world. together”.

Devil within us

Another horror title, this time putting yourself in the shoes of Aughust Heylel, an exorcist with a waning faith. It could be conveniently spooky on a dark night with Switch in hand.

Droid Escape – ‘Soon’

A challenging retro-style platformer in which you try to reunite Anny K. and her robot Droid 07. It seems pretty standard for the genre, with complicated maneuvers and lots of dangers.

Head Over Heels – Available Now

This is actually a remake of a 1987 release that graced systems like the ZX Spectrum and Commodore 64. Isometric puzzles like this one were popular back in the day, as you work in one room at a time trying to overcome various dangers and challenges. . If you enjoyed Lumo on Switch, it might be worth checking out.

Herod

Something like the movie Interior space (look it up, kids), but a little grimmer as he tries to cure a deadly virus. It’s a shoot ’em up in someone’s gut, which could be quite funny and gross, although the color palette seems pretty muted.

In Extremis

Another shoot ’em up, although this time it’s a vertical scroll. This one looks pretty eye-catching as its visuals and levels seem to take some pretty imaginative twists. The description says that it “tries to bridge the gap between art and fun, the underground and the conventional, the old and the new.”

Josh Journey: Totems of Darkness

A colorful beat ’em up with hand-drawn images, it seems to be best enjoyed at a local co-op with up to three friends. It will have four different fighters, each with unique abilities, so it will be interesting to see how it forms.

My Night Job – Definitive Edition

This is an update from a 2016 release, which had fairly moderate revisions at the time. It certainly has a sense of style, however, with bright visuals and ’80s horror inspiration, it certainly could be entertaining if the original is improved.

Racco Venture

This 3D platformer is definitely promising, with several levels from the trailer energetically reminding us of similar designs in Super Mario Land 3D and Super Mario 3D World. While it certainly has sources of inspiration up its sleeve, it could be a fun time, one to watch.

The Humans (Coming Soon)

This is a trilogy compilation of retro puzzle titles that made some comparisons to Lemmings early 90’s. As you can see in the trailer, the collection includes the Game Boy version, and there will be some modern touches (like a save system) to help new players to the series.

The Immortal (now available)

This is a bit strange. In fact, it’s already available in this week’s download update, but you can also play it on the Nintendo Switch Online NES app, so if you’re subscribed, you can play it for free. Well if you are not on NSO, you want to have a digital copy or experience the best version of Mega Drive / Genesis, it is available in the eShop in North America and Europe.

Things that bounce and explode

Rather it seems Escape on steroids, with a lot of style and added color. There will also be RPG elements, with different types of weapons and upgrades to win.

That’s your thing, ugh! Let us know in the comments which of these games catches your eye.
