What are you going to play this weekend? (30th of October)

[ad_1]

Yet another week as we head into the spookiest weekend of the year and into November. This week Nintendo released their Switch Online expansion pack with a mixed response, we first saw Pikmin Bloom on mobile, a pretty talented mother made her daughter an amazing Samus costume for Halloween, and Mario Party Superstars released too.

After all that, it’s time to relax and discuss our weekend game plans. Some mThe Embers of the Nintendo Life team have done exactly that below, so feel free to read our posts and then join yours via our comment section. Enjoy!

The long autumn nights make this middle-aged gamer quite tired after a day of “work” so I’m back to The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles. I am currently in case 5 (the last of the first game) and it is longBut like a bit of laid-back reading and light puzzle solving, the game is really doing the trick.

Somewhere else i plan to play Moonglow bay this weekend as it looks absolutely lovely.

Hello people! Sadly, I am not diving into any N64 games yet, as I have yet to update my membership online. However, I will do my best and play Super Mario 64 in the Super Mario 3D All-Stars collection. That game is like pure comfort food; just absolutely wonderful.

Elsewhere, I’m still making my way through Dying Light in Series X, and I also downloaded Dragon Ball FighterZ from Game Pass. I hadn’t played it until recently, and it really surprised me! The visuals are amazing and unlike most fighting games I’m not really shit. Who knows!

While I should certainly take care of my legendary backlog, I will be spending this weekend testing the Nintendo 64 NSO. Although I would rather get a Nintendo 64 Mini for Christmas and consider it a personal insult that my first N64 game (F-Zero X, naturally) is not present in the starting lineup, all the disappointed fan voices in the world. I can’t deny that Star Fox 64 is an absolutely amazing game and it’s a pleasure to visit again. Of course, I’ll also enjoy ruining adult friendships with the latest Mario Party superstars.

The game of the week is Arcade Archives Sky Kid, but don’t trust me as it’s my favorite Namco game of all time so clearly I’m pretty biased … but where’s my Sky Kid 99, Nintendo?

Jon Cartwright, video producer

The Nintendo Switch Online expansion pack launched earlier this week and I’ve slowly been cutting Ocarina of Time. I’m about to head to the Water Temple, so this will be fun!

There are many valid complaints about the service, but personally I have only played the N64 version of OoT at 50hz and it has been a whole new experience to play at 60 … somehow this 20fps game feels good. However, I want those gray edges to disappear, please, Nintendo.

I also plan to play Sin & Punishment again, it is one of the best games to grace Nintendo 64 and ignoring it should be a punishable offense.

I played a bit of Ocarina of Time on the Switch last week, but I want to resist playing any more until my NSO N64 controller shows up. I’ve heard great things about your authentic feel from your trusted co-workers, so I’m eager to get my hands around your tips.

Until then, I’ll be spending more time with Pikmin Bloom and chilling out with the sublime Tetris effect – plugged in when I have five minutes to chill the beans right away. Have a great weekend everyone!

As always, thanks for reading! Be sure to leave us a comment below with your weekend game plans!
