Age of Empires IV: Tips to Help Your Army Stay Up-to-Date

Rally Point Resources

At the beginning of the game, you will focus a lot on gathering resources, such as wood, food, stone, and gold. To help you quickly put the villagers to work collecting these resources, you can predetermine their allocation before they rush out of your Town Center using the rally points. upon these resources to get them to work quickly.

To do this, select your Town Center and then right-click on a particular resource location (a forest for lumber, animals / farms for food, a gold vein for gold, etc.). By default, many of the function keys (F1, F2, etc.) on your keyboard can be used to quickly navigate to the locations of your village buildings, such as barracks, archery ranges, etc. But one thing we’ve found useful is assigning these buildings to a group so that your camera doesn’t zoom back to your village. This is especially useful since you are doing many tasks at the same time, usually in the middle of battle, and it is time to start replenishing your army in real time.

To do this, left-click on the unit-producing structure (also double-left-click to select all that building type), and then press Ctrl + 1-9 to assign that structure to a group along the row of numbers from your keyboard. By scrolling through these grouped structures, you will find that you can manage your construction queues at any time in your navigation bar without the camera focusing on your village, away from what you were managing on the screen (troops, scouts, etc.).
