Dino Crisis: Unreal Engine 5 trailer shows we finally need a proper remake

Dino Crisis is one of those games that fans have been waiting for a comeback for many years.

Dino Crisis could really do with a decent remake.

Dino Crisis could really do with a decent remake.

Dino Crisis rightly enjoys cult status: the Capcom classic worked like Resident Evil at the time, only with dinosaurs. The mix was perfect and since then fans have been hoping that the series will be revived at some point and will find its way back to its former glory. This fan trailer in Unreal Engine 5 shows how badly we finally need a real remake. It’s anything but perfect, but it sets the direction.

Unreal Engine 5 trailer for Dino Crisis Remake makes you want to reboot even more

Fascination remains unbroken: Anyone who played the Dino Crisis games at the time should still mourn them afterwards. Unfortunately, they haven’t aged particularly well, and when we look at games these days, the pixelated graphics, clunky controls, and wooden animations kill our nostalgic memories. All the more fans still hope that we will eventually enjoy a genuine new edition that eliminates all the problems.

This trailer also makes that clear. With the help of Unreal Engine 5, a concept video was put together here. Of course, there is still room for improvement here too, such as more different animations, more detailed models, more appropriate proportions and more sophisticated environments. An official remake could offer all of that and more, should Capcom finally decide to invest the time and money into a remake.

More on the subject:

At least recently it looked like we’d at least be able to play the original via the new PS Plus service. Within the PS Plus Premium tier, there was an image intended to promote the Classics catalog that featured Dino Crisis heroine Regina. But the game itself wasn’t part of the subscription catalog and the banner has since been removed.

What should a Dino Crisis remake look like for you? What do you think of the concept?
