WoW: Dragonflight: Ready to Go at the push of a button – the “Starter Builds”
With the so-called Starter Build, the developers make it easier for us to get into the new talent trees of WoW: Dragonflight. Fully geared towards newcomers, the talent distribution makes for a simple playstyle, but you can always customize it to your liking.
With WoW: Dragonflight, our heroes say goodbye to the talent matrix and we get the new, dual talent trees instead. These are significantly more complex than the previous talent trees we had in game up until Mists of Pandaria launched. The division into a class and a specialization talent tree should give us considerably more freedom and individualization.
However, the complexity gained also has a disadvantage. In order to at least halfway call up the potential of a class, you sometimes have to deal with the new talents a lot. What can still be fun with the main character may look completely different with the twinks. Therefore, in the new system, it will be possible to simply copy complete talent distributions from other players. In addition, the developers have installed the so-called starter builds.
Complete loadout at the push of a button
In the first version of this new feature, we were already given the opportunity to gradually fill our talent trees and the system always told us where the next point should go. In the most recent beta build, the developers have now further developed the system.
Instead of skilling according to a specific order, we can now simply select the “Starter Build” for the loadouts. In this case, all existing talent points are distributed in one fell swoop in a way that the developers consider useful for a beginner. The action bars are also filled directly.

On an alt or with a new (possibly boosted) character at any level, you can allocate your talent points in a reasonably useful way with just one click. Of course, this simplifies the entry into another class or spec considerably. Especially since you have the option of adapting this starter build as you wish and saving it under a different name.
However, the feature is not yet available for many classes. However, Rufer and Krieger can already try it out in the beta. We’re curious to see how the feedback turns out and how far the starter builds are from what theorycrafters calculate as the potentially strongest distribution at the end of the day.
