Breaking: The Witcher franchise gets 2 new games and multiplayer for the first time
CD Projekt Red revealed a lot about the future of The Witcher series in a strategy update via Twitter. Accordingly, we can expect not only a new trilogy with the already known The Witcher: A New Saga Begins, but even two other games that have now been announced for the first time. All previous information is available here.
Two all-new The Witcher games in the works
It was already known that CD Projekt Red was working on a new The Witcher trilogy. As the developer has now announced via Twitter, two other games in the Witcher universe are also in the works, which have the project names Sirius and Canis Majoris. Not much is known about them yet, but there is at least some information:
- Project Sirius: The game is currently in the pre-production phase and is being developed by Molasses Flood, supported by CD Projekt. It’s meant to be an “innovative” approach to the Witcher universe and will appeal to new and old fans alike. Multiplayer should also be included in the game.
- Project Canis Majoris: The game is being developed by a third-party developer with former The Witcher developers on Unreal Engine 5. It will be a story-focused, single-player, open-world RPG.

Multiplayer for future games: As also emerges from the thread, future games of the CD Projekt IPs should also increasingly contain multiplayer. Nevertheless, the focus should still be on single player and the experience should only be “enriched” by multiplayer.
Cyberpunk 2077 sequel and more
But that’s not all, CD Projekt has also announced other games, including a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077. All known information can be found here:
