“The Rock” berates Warner Bros. for dealing with Superman
The future of Henry Cavill as Superman in the DCU is still not entirely clear. Although the actor, who has played the role of Clark Kent in several films, is in the mid-credit scene of Black Adam at least for a brief moment – but Warner Bros. has officially confirmed it so far no more projects. A key role in Cavill’s comeback Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson have played. He and his team really wanted Black Adam to meet Superman.
The Rock criticizes Warner Bros.
However, The Rock’s wish doesn’t seem to have been fulfilled quite so harmoniously. in one Twitter video – on the digital launch of Black Adam – the performer tells that those responsible “inexplicably” had no intention of bringing Henry Cavill back into the DCU. Dwayne Johnson also describes the behavior as “inexcusable”, which Warner Bros. gave him here. Only the producers of Black Adam were able to convince in the end.
Black Adam disappointed at the box office
In the video, The Rock also addresses the DC film’s definitively disappointing sales numbers. All in all $368 million recorded Black Adam. This should Warner Bros. apparently not even profit make. But for Dwayne Johnson, the future of Black Adam doesn’t depend on box office results. We can be curious if Warner Bros. shares this idea with The Rock.
It is speculated that Henry Cavill’s end as Superman also had something to do with sales figures. Films such as Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Justice League have not achieved the desired results that Warner Bros. initially desired for these projects. Let’s see what James Gunn and Peter Saffron have now planned for the DCU – the duo are now assuming creative direction of the DC Universe.
