WoW: A druid world boss in Durotar? (Almost) invincible Rextroy runs amok
Shortly before the start of WoW: Dragonflight, the well-known player and YouTuber Rextroy found a way to bend the new talents and mechanics of the upcoming expansion in such a way that he can cause some chaos.
The new expansion WoW: Dragonflight is just around the corner and most players spend the last few days preparing for the adventures on the Dragon Islands. Rextroy, on the other hand, is more concerned with checking the new systems and features for weak points and has found what they are looking for more than once.
He recently fought his way around as a shaman with one-shots or collected dozens of bugs in the current talent trees. In the current case, however, his focus is not on knocking out other players, but on staying alive himself while dozens of Hordlers beat him up. And he did it perfectly.
Finally successful after a long time
The idea for the campaign had been in the drawer for a long time and is based on the Legendary Souvenir of Ursoc’s Rage. The shield from it should actually have a limit of 30 percent of the maximum life points. In most cases this is the case. However, there are a few exceptions.
- The first shield does not appear to be limited. Each renewal of the shield is then reduced to the limit.
In practice, this bug is hardly noticeable. For one thing, you rarely cause so much damage that the limit would be exceeded. On the other hand Hit usually several targets, whereby the shield is “renewed” and limited already at the second target.
But now you meet me Hit only a low level target, you deal immense damage and gain a correspondingly immense shield. However, in practice it is hardly possible to renew this shield while umpteen enemies are standing around you. So the idea was shelved again… until the pre-patch.
- Because now the Legendary has become the talent Ursoc’s Wrath. Now the effect is also from Crush triggered – an attack on a single target. And meanwhile Rextroy was able to pull off his tactics.
He collected lots of low-level mobs and used them to attack the Hordlers in Durotar. They can’t kill the low-level orcs, and Rextroy now keeps repeating his combination that he put in a macro. He removes the previous shield and misses himself a millisecond later via Crush a new, gigantic shield on one of the low-level mobs.
Opponents only counter is if they pack a stun right between removing the old shield and applying the new shield. Or the mind control of the priests, since these collected mobs can run away. Incidentally, the bug was already fixed by Blizzard a few days after the recordings were made. So if you’ve been thinking about exploiting the mechanics yourself, we’re going to have to disappoint you.
