Because PlayStation Direct, Sony’s in-house PS5 sale, will be back up again today, May 16th, after last week’s drop. The campaign should run as usual until around 12:00 p.m. Only PlayStation Direct registered users who were lucky enough to be randomly selected for the promotion by Sony can participate in this sale. As always, the invitation including the link to the sale will be sent by email. So be sure to check your inbox (and spam folder) again. It is not yet clear whether there will finally be an open sale again afterwards. However, we will inform you here as soon as possible if this should happen this time.

But there are also other interesting retailers apart from PlayStation Direct that could be exciting in the new week. The two replenishment guarantors MediaMarkt and Saturn have not yet sold the PS5 in May. In Austria, however, MediaMarkt.at already had both a local pre-order campaign and an online drop, which the PS5 hunter scene sees as a good omen for Germany.

Because in April there was already local sales in this form and MediaMarkt (as well as Saturn) followed shortly afterwards in this country. But even independently of this, there have been rumors in the scene since the beginning of May that MMS is to start a large-scale pre-order campaign with us this month. An insider is said to have reported this.

In addition, the following still applies: In May, many retailers did not yet offer the PS5. In addition to the two top-class players MediaMarkt and Saturn, there are still several medium-sized and smaller retailers such as Euronics, MediMax and MyToys. It could still be exciting there this week – and in principle at any time, including this Monday.

Update from May 15, 2022, 5:30 p.m.: PS Direct is apparently surprising PS5 fans again with a sale of the PlayStation 5. Check your emails, the PS5 sale is scheduled to start on Monday, May 16 at 10:30 a.m. and last until 12:00 p.m. As always, the following applies: only those who have received an invitation from Sony by e-mail can also strike the PlayStation 5. There was no open sale with the last PS5 drop from PS Direct, whether that will be the case this time is still unknown.

Update from May 15, 2022, 4:55 p.m.: On Sunday, the console situation will remain calm as usual, but we do have a new addition to report. A new official PS5 bundle from Sony has surfaced in the UK.
