Fire Emblem and 8 other Nintendo franchises that need a TV series – Feature

[ad_1]

Recently, we have spent the last who knows how long, replaying Pokémon Blue, Red and Yellow on the 3DS Virtual Console, and enjoying the original Pokémon animated series on Netflix along with this, and what a long time I’ve had! Netflix is rumored to be planning to do a live-action Pokémon series as well, and this won’t be the first time Netflix has adapted a game franchise, with Castlevania and The Witcher proving hugely successful as live-action and animated series. respectively, not to mention the recent CG Resident Evil series.

Playing those classic Pokémon games and watching a series based on them made us think of Nintendo Life, what other Nintendo franchises would we love to see turned into a series? Here are nine franchises that we think would be great programs. Some are popular mainstays in the Nintendo universe, others are forgotten gems that they could do with a comeback.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses (Switch)Fire Emblem: Three Houses (Switch)

Editor: Nintendo / Developer: Intelligent Systems

Release date: July 26, 2019 (USA) / July 26, 2019 (UK / EU)

Okay, let’s apologize now because we will only talk about Fire Emblem: Three Houses.

Awakening helped ‘save’ the series and grow its fan base, but Three Houses helped showcase the franchise’s potential on a home console for people who missed GameCube and Wii tickets. The handful of fully animated cut scenes in the game are so, so beautiful, how could you not want a Fire Emblem series? There are also multiple story routes, leaving endless possibilities for an animated narrative to follow.

Aside from the main story, we would like to see potentially ‘specials’ that focus on each house and the students within, exploring their backgrounds and relationships, similar to supportive conversations, but more developed. We would pay a lot of money to know everything and anything about our girl Hilda, and we imagine that any Three Houses fan would feel the same about their best boy or girl. Another option could be to fully animate the paralogs and the story of the characters involved in them. We would love to know more about Seteth and Flayn, and their lives before they arrived at the monastery.

The real question is this: What form of Byleth would you present?

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (Switch)Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (Switch)

Editor: Nintendo / Developer: Nintendo

Release date: December 7, 2018 (USA) / December 7, 2018 (UK / EU)

We know, we know, the licenses only I would do the virtually impossible, but we can dream, right? From the opening of World of Light to all the character reveals we’ve seen in recent years, the possibilities for a crossover Super Smash Bros. video game series are endless.

Yes, the license would make it impossible for multiple characters to appear, but even with just Nintendo’s proprietary listing, it would be insane to discuss them all. However, we think a fully animated Master Hand and Crazy Hand would make great physical comedy sections, and there would be many, many interactions that would be super fun to watch.

Our boy Kirby can also be there sucking everyone when he (he? Apparently he) wants to. Watch? Endless comedy potential.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (Switch)Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (Switch)

Editor: Nintendo / Developer: Nintendo

Release date: April 28, 2017 (USA) / April 28, 2017 (UK / EU)

We have children obsessed with Mickey and the Roadster Racers. When we first sat down and watched this with them, we thought how can they make a narrative around racing with characters that are not known for racing? Turns out it’s not that difficult at all!

This series could focus on a ‘World Tour’, more like the mobile game, where Bowser or any chosen villain is trying to stop Mario and his friends from winning, or even ending the races at the Grand Prix. We don’t know of anyone who hasn’t played Mario Kart, so we think a series would be fun especially for younger audiences, introducing them to some characters that aren’t usually the center of attention in most Nintendo games.

Chibi-Robo (GCN)Chibi-Robo (GCN)

Editor: Nintendo / Developer: jump

Release date: 6th Feb 2006 (USA) / May 26, 2006 (UK / EU)

If you didn’t think you’d be reading about us advocating for more Chibi-Robo, you’re obviously not paying attention to how much we love the little one.

The GameCube game Chibi-Robo takes place in a house where the homonymous little robot has been bought as a birthday present for a quiet eight-year-old girl named Jenny. We could see this as an opportunity to give Chibi-Robo the heart that we already know this ‘Tin Man’ has; bonding with Jenny is a Wall-E-Schedule fashion and help her in more than just a job role for which she was bought.

It would be adorable, and we definitely wouldn’t cry like we have watching Luca every day for the last month. Kids, huh? They will make you feel good. Well kids and Pixar. And Chibi-Robo.

Kid Icarus: Uprising (3DS)Kid Icarus: Uprising (3DS)

Editor: Nintendo / Developer: Sora Project

Release date: March 23, 2012 (USA) / March 23, 2012 (UK / EU)

Hey Nintendo, why isn’t there a new Kid Icarus game on Switch? Or at least one port from the 3DS game. Kid Icarus: Uprising? For those who played, it was a beautiful game that really showed the potential of the 3DS. He also introduced many people to Pit, Palutena, Medusa, and many more.

A fantasy world based on Greek mythology leaves a world of possibilities so wide open to become an incredibly dramatic series. A series could be just what Pit needs to stand out as more than just a Smash character to a wider audience. And you can’t have a series without a linked game, right? Correct? Correct?

WarioWare: Get it together! (Change)WarioWare: Get it together! (Change)

Release date: September 10, 2021 (USA) / September 10, 2021 (UK / EU)

Let’s be honest, who wouldn’t want to see the antihero, Wario, have his own series, causing trouble and mischief?

Many of Wario’s games have focused on him hunting for treasure and loot, with the goal of burst his way to become the richest man in the kingdom (or at least richer than Mario). And of course we need to have Captain Syrup as the story’s antagonist, who seems to be one step ahead of Wario and his plans. WarioWare: Get it together! seeks to showcase the colorful cast of characters that have appeared in their microgames like never before, and we would also seize the opportunity to see 9-Volt on television.

Ring Fit Adventure (switch)Ring Fit Adventure (switch)

Editor: Nintendo / Developer: Nintendo

Release date: October 18, 2019 (USA) / October 18, 2019 (UK / EU)

For the past eighteen months, and during the confinement, we alternated between one of two characters: either we got in the best shape of our lives, or we spent all of our time bingeing on everything and anything our eyes could consume. We were mostly the last ones, and we really could have done with sinking all those hours into Ring Fit Adventure rather than trying to spawn a shiny Obstagoon and perfect IV.

As most people thought when playing RFA, this is much more than just a fitness game. We could see this turn into an adventure / educational series where alongside a narrative where there may be obstacles to complete in order to defeat an enemy or overcome a problem, the Ring Fit Trainer could explain which muscles are used. , why they are important and how they are used. Actions can be used to get in shape.

We imagine that it is quite similar to Japanese anime. How heavy are the dumbbells you lift? but instead of weight training, it would be fitness.

Excitebike 64 (N64)Excitebike 64 (N64)

Editor: Nintendo / Developer: Left field productions

Release date: April 30, 2000 (USA) / June 8, 2001 (UK / EU)

Excitebike is a long-forgotten Nintendo franchise that hasn’t had much love in recent years. We got to see a competitive narrative, driven by glory, in which returning characters from Excitebike 64, like “Jumpin Jim” Rivers or “Tricky Ricky” Stern, battle to be the Excitebike World Champion.

The platforms this franchise appeared on were visually limited compared to current potential, so an animated series could really show how exciting a bike can be.

Punch out!! (Wii)Punch out!! (Wii)

Editor: Nintendo / Developer: Next level games

Release date: May 18, 2009 (USA) / May 22, 2009 (UK / EU)

Do you have all the watches? Rocky? How about anime? Hajime no Ippo? If your answer is ‘yes’ to any of these, then you know how gripping and beautiful a boxing narrative can be. This is one of the few on this list that we wouldn’t mind having as a live-action or animated series. Of course, some rivals from the original game series wouldn’t make the cut on a modern series, but this is the chance to maybe introduce some new characters to start a new upcoming game.

If we are dreaming, why not launch an arm crossover? I wonder how Little Mac would fare against Spring Man or Min-Min?

These are just a few of the franchises that would be great programs for us all to binge and fall in love with, but there are many more that are not listed here. What franchises would you like to see turned into a series? Let us know in the comments.
