If you prefer games that feel a bit more off the beaten path, today’s ID @ Xbox Showcase offers a promising list of upcoming indie titles heading to Xbox consoles (as well as other platforms). While we were gifted with smaller looks at recently covered titles like The Vale: Shadow of the Crown, The Big Con, and Aragami 2, we also got to see projects that haven’t been in the limelight for a while. learning for the first time. Several of these games will also debut on Xbox Game Pass. For those who missed the presentation, we put each ad together to make it easier to catch up.

Light year border

This vibrant sci-fi farming simulator gives players their own mechs used to gather materials, farm, and build settlements. You can eliminate these activities alone or with up to three other friends in four-player co-op mode. Lightyear Frontier will launch in early access next year on Xbox and PC consoles.

The wandering people

As the name suggests, The Wandering Village is a unique city builder where the town in question is situated on a giant dinosaur-like creature. Make sure to wear your thinking cap when Lab Rat hits consoles and PC in 2022.

RPG Time: The Legend of Wright

This hand-drawn RPG focuses on a young aspiring game designer creating his own epic adventure within the confines of his notebook. That odyssey comes to life in wonderful detail thanks to the game’s busy yet overly identifiable presentation of cardboard dioramas, graffiti-laden desks, and a myriad of knickknacks. Save the day before the school day ends when RPG Time: The Legend of Wright hits Xbox, PC and mobile platforms this winter.

Inked: A Tale of Love

Speaking of drawings that come to life, Inked: A Tale of Love sports a comparatively cleaner look that is brought to life with a ballpoint pen. The game stars a nameless warrior looking for his beloved, a painter, solving puzzles. The game breaks the fourth wall by featuring the presence of the creator of the world, a literal giant hand wielding a pen that assists the warrior on his journey. Inked: A Tale of Love launches on August 27.

The 2006 Sam & Max episodic adventure series received a modern makeover and now Xbox fans can relive the duo’s glory days … starting today!

OlliOlli World

A new trailer showcased more of OlliOlli World’s renewed open-world gameplay style, as well as its extensive character creator for the first time. We also learned that the game will run at 4K / 120 FPS on next-gen hardware.

The big scam

We’ve covered The Big Con’s premise about a teenage con artist who uses her skills to scam people in order to save her mother’s video store. What we didn’t know was the talented voice cast, which includes the likes of Troy Baker and the newly revealed Erika Ishii as the lead Ali.

Aeon Drive

This side-scrolling cyberpunk action features fast-paced platformers that look buttery smooth and can be played alone or with friends in four-player co-op. Don’t you like working together? You can also compete in a separate PvP mode. Aeon Drive looks stylish and a demo is available today. Meanwhile, the full game arrives this fall.

Pupperazzi

Do you love dogs? How about taking pictures of these doggos? The adorable Pupparazzi is right up your street. Build your photography career by capturing snapshots of canines who can don all kinds of outfits and engage in a variety of wacky activities like breaking half pipes on a skateboard. There are no humans either. Only dogs. Sounds like heaven to us.

Ruin Library

Now available on Xbox Game Pass, Library of Ruin has a fascinating, if not strange, hook. Set in a library, you participate in card battles against other librarians and visitors that, when defeated, become books for your collection. OK that’s fine. It sounds very strange, but at least we don’t have to wait to see how strange it really is.

The Vale: Shadow of the Crown

How about a game that you can’t see but can only hear? The Vale: Shadow of the Crown puts you in the shoes of a blind warrior and therefore players must rely on audio to survive in a harsh medical world. As well as offering a very different take on elements like combat and puzzle solving, The Vale offers a great accessibility option for players with low vision. It launches August 19 on Xbox One and PC.

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous

We knew the new Pathfinder CRPG would be coming to PC on September 2, and we also learned that it will be coming to Xbox One (as well as PlayStation 4) on March 1, 2022.

Aragami 2

Aragami 2 maintains the shadow manipulation and hardcore stealth of the 2016 original, but this time you can have two friends join the fray in three-player co-op. A new story trailer sets the stage for what you’ll fight and why.

Evil Genius 2: Domination

If you’re an Xbox gamer who’s been looking at this acclaimed farming sim, you’ll be happy to hear that it’s coming to Xbox Game Pass for console and PC sometime this fall.

Spacelines From the Far Out

Imagine the cooperative madness of Overcooked, but instead of trying to operate a kitchen, you’re piloting a spaceship. You are running your own line of space transports and you will need to master flying, hacking, cooking, dancing, and other skills to keep passengers happy and your business afloat. Spacelines looks equally absurd and chaotic and is coming this fall. You can also play a demo right now!

The ingenious escape
