Here are all the changes coming to the triangle strategy thanks to feedback from the player demo


Triangular strategy

Last week’s Nintendo Direct gave us a fresh look at Triangle Strategy, Square Enix’s latest HD-2D RPG. In addition to the new trailer and the March 2022 release date, it was also confirmed that changes had been made to the title as a result of the feedback survey given to players who had tried the game demo.

Now, Nintendo has published a complete list of the changes that have been made thanks to this survey. The game’s producers, Yasuaki Arai and Tomoya Asano, said: “We are grateful to have received many responses from people around the world and we are very happy as developers to have received positive feedback and suggestions from each region. We are working on various improvements. for the final version of Triangle Strategy, based on the responses to the survey … “

So without further ado, here are those changes:

Major improvements

1) Charging times
  • Load times during events have been shortened and are now approximately 10 seconds shorter in the most notable scenes.
  • The goal is to further shorten loading times per launch.
2) Events
  • In the debut demo, it was necessary to return to the world map after watching an event. In the final version of the game, you will see a series of scenario events in succession, reducing the number of times the player is sent back to the world map.
  • Autoplay and skip features have been added. Autoplay can be activated during an event with the ZR button, and events can be skipped with the + button.
  • Chat logs, an event information review feature, and character profiles have been added.
  • The cursor speed on the world map is now faster when selecting events. Additionally, the icons for character episodes and side stories have been made easier to distinguish.

3) battle difficulty
  • Difficulty settings “Hard” and “Easy” have been added.
4) Battle operation
  • Camera controls have been adjusted:
    • The degree of zooming in and out can now be adjusted freely
    • The camera can now be rotated 90 degrees by quickly tilting the right stick
    • Camera rotation sensitivity has been adjusted.
  • By changing commands while hovering over an enemy within attack range, you can compare and evaluate estimated damage and accuracy rates.
  • Added “Simulation Mode”, which allows you to check the estimated results of actions against enemies outside the attack range.
  • Weapon type icons are now displayed to easily distinguish an enemy’s type and weapons.
  • Added highlighting to target lines that extend from boss characters with especially powerful attacks.
  • Enemy turn orders are displayed when hovering over them.
  • The turn order of units on the map is now also displayed on the AT bar.
  • The location of the command window during battle has been changed to improve visibility.
  • More options have been added for screen visibility, effects, and controls.

Other changes and improvements

  • Serenoa’s controls during RPG mode have been improved.
  • One button input is now required to enter / exit houses (to avoid entering by mistake).
  • Panel colors have been adjusted when selecting a destination.
  • Added an icon indicating a successful back attack.
  • Added a feature to automatically pause and create turn-based save data in battles.
  • Game tips were implemented during loading screens.
  • Added a screen during battle setup to display a list of deployable / non-deployable units.
  • Added a feature to display guides on terrain effects during battles.
  • Added a feature to allow button guide information to be hidden at the bottom of the screen.
  • Added a function to show the final destination of a character before using an ability that involves movement of the character.
  • Improved the display of buffs, debuffs, and the number of turn effects that will last on items.
  • A battle retry function has been implemented.
  • Button assignments have been adjusted

The developers conclude:
