Nintendo announces new Splatoon and Smash Bros. tournaments for the US and UK

Over the past few days, Nintendo has been very busy announcing a number of different tournaments to be held for fans of Splatoon 2 and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The best part? There are great prizes to be won.

We will start with the US tournaments, where both Smash and Splatoon are being invited to new events:

NintendoVS US Fall Open 2021 – Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Divided into two weekends in October, this event will see up to 16 Smash players win “sweet prize packages.” Registration is open here.

NintendoVS US Challenge Cup Fall 2021 – Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Also split over two weekends, but this time in November, this tournament has a grand prize trophy, themed jacket, backpack, and more up for grabs. You can participate by selecting Online> Smash> Official Tourney Qualifiers in-game on either date between 3pm and 6pm PT, and the full rules can be found here.

Splatoon 2 Fresh Four Championship 2021

At this point alone, the 2021 Fresh Four Championship will feature four of the best teams from the 2021 Splatoon 2 Splatter Ladder event. It will all take place this fall, with more details to come.

Now to the UK, where Nintendo and Gfinity have announced Splatoon 2 Inkfest UK. 2021 Tournament:

This new series will take place for 12 weeks between Saturday, September 25 and Saturday, December 11, 2021. The tournament features a cup format that will be held every three weeks; Each Cup consists of Open Ladder tournaments that take place every weekend of the first two weeks, where teams can play as many times as they wish to improve their ranking for a chance to qualify for the Cup final.

The first weekend of the first Cup has already passed and gone, but there are still registrations. Open here if you want to participate in future matches, and yes, there are prizes you can win!
