How to Survive the Time Loop at Lemnis Gate, Available Today with Xbox Game Pass

With Lemnis Gate We wanted to give free-thinking and creative players the opportunity to develop quirky and innovative techniques.

If you still don’t know how Lemnis Gate it works, here is a quick summary. At the start of a turn, you choose one of seven operatives with unique abilities to control. You then have 25 seconds to take an action, whether it’s aiming at a target, protecting a teammate, or eliminating an opponent. When the time is up, you exit the loop and your opponent enters, trying to counter the moves you have made. Fundamentally, past actions are still in play. Then, turn by turn, over five action-packed rounds, more and more agents are layered in the progressively changing arena.

On Lemnis Gate, only the smartest survive and strategic thinking is key to victory. It’s about making decisions and solving problems. Think of it as chess meets FPS, with you and your opponent trying to outdo and outmaneuver each other. It’s as deep and just as cerebral as the classic competitive board game. That’s why I want to give you five useful tips and tricks to get you started in the best possible way.

• Anticipate your enemy’s movements by covering points of interest with bullets, traps or shields. This will challenge them when they counter your plans. Remember, it’s not just about an operative’s position in space, but where it is in time.

• Focusing exclusively on one target or enemy operative can be easy to counter. Diversify and distribute your team to cover as much ground as possible. The same goes for you, so make your movements unpredictable to throw off your opponent. A stationary target is an easy target for a future bullet. If you decide to stay put, be sure to protect yourself on the next turn by fielding a defensive-minded operative like KARL.

• Between shifts, take advantage of the allotted time and fly your drone across the map to see the current state of affairs. Not only can you plan your next move from a bird’s eye view, but you can also position the strategy markers down to highlight points of interest and create the perfect strategy.

• Death is not the end. If you bite the bullet, you can still end your turn as a ghost. Your ghost actions will become real if that operative is saved on a later turn. Beware of friendly fire. You don’t want to run into your own shots, regardless of the timeline in which they occur.

• The winner is only decided in the final round. That means you can come back from a losing position. To do so, find the operative that is causing you the most trouble and remove them, thus clearing your cascade of deadly events from the loop. Break the butterfly effect.
