Princess.Loot.Pixel.Again is the translation of the bravest ideas of our team in game design: an advanced combat system and random generation, which adds interest and complexity to the game.

Princess.Loot.Pixel.Again

We wanted to combine our ideas in a traditional setting for the genre with princesses and dragons, the classic story about a brave knight. This is the atmosphere that we remember from our childhood: the spirit of long-forgotten gaming platforms, each of the games of that time we remember warmly, we made references to some of them, sometimes obvious.

Establishing a simple and understandable story as the basis of the game gave us the opportunity to focus our efforts on the gameplay. We consciously abandoned current developments in game design in favor of retro and even ditched routine in a radical way – we added permanent death. The game could have been released earlier, maybe even a few years earlier, but we always wanted to improve it a bit.

Princess.Loot.Pixel.Again

Our idea for the entire development period was characterized by a few lines:

Save the ruler from the clutches of the bloodthirsty dragon!
Win the hand and heart of the princess!
Use a variety of equipment and gadgets!
Dodge enemies and jump over spikes!
Enjoy the retro pixelated style!
Has all this happened before? Do it again!

This is the basis of PLPAWith these lines I began every working day of the team, but at some point, we got bored with Dragon, he was too banal an antagonist. In the game there is no indication of the seriousness of what is happening, it is not a story about a hero in the usual sense, here we are going to have a lot of fun. For us it is important that the player can enjoy the game.

Princess.Loot.Pixel.Again

Although the game has a permanent death mechanic with subsequent generation of random levels, the decisive role is still played by skill, not by chance. With each death, the player learns from his own mistakes, calculating each step ahead. There is a complete knowledge base on the mechanics of the game, the artifacts, the events of the game, that you gradually learn, getting involved in the universe of the game, created by us.

We will also be happy to find like-minded people among console gamers because the game was originally designed to be played comfortably on the gamepad.

Princess.Loot.Pixel.Again is a dynamic platformer with the elements of a rogue-lite, a combo system, and special moves. The main objective is to clear all the floors of the Dark Tower and defeat the main antagonist – the evil wizard. This will not be easy because after the permanent death of the main character, the castle plan is automatically redesigned. Success or not depends primarily on your skills, not on random events. The player gradually gets to know the mechanics of the game, learns the effects of artifacts, elements, abilities, the behavior of enemies and bosses. This is at the core of the game – the player improves primarily by learning from their mistakes and improving their skills, not by leveling up their character. Plot The story begins with a young man who falls in love with the king’s daughter and dares to go and ask the ruler for his daughter’s hand. But a commoner is no match for her, so the king calls for the executioner to behead him. At this very moment, the evil wizard breaks into the castle and kidnaps the king. Our fearless hero runs to the villain’s lair to defeat him and prove himself worthy of the King’s blessing. The corridors of the castle diverge at certain points, which means that the player will have to make important decisions. The game has various endings that depend on how many times you complete it and the paths you choose.
