Microsoft: Windows Store should become more user-friendly

As The Verge reported, these changes are part of an update for the Xbox app, which is currently being tested internally. This also makes modding games a lot easier, as previously only a limited number of Windows Store titles actually supported mods. With unrestricted folder access, everyone can do what they want with their files. With this update, the Windows Store is now a lot more similar to other launchers like Steam and Battle.net. Players will also be able to examine the game files for errors and repair them.

When asked by The Verge, Jason Beaumont, the Partner Director of Experiences, replied: “With great PC games like Back 4 Blood, Age of Empires IV, Forza Horizon 5, and Halo Infinite that players can play right through the Game Pass on day one, we wanted to give them more ways to enhance their gaming experience in the Xbox Customize the app. We will continue to share updates as we release additional features. “
