Battlefield 2042: Early Access startet flüssig, Server-Probleme am Abend “unable to connect”
Today, November 12th, the Early Access of Battlefield 2042 starts. The latest part of the popular series starts with new modes and some features that have never been seen before in Battlefield. MeinMMO accompanied the release. Here you will find information about the start, problems with the release and possible solutions to problems.
Sticky: Apparently there is a problem with EA Play. Xbox gamers in particular have difficulty finding and installing Battlefield 2042. There are currently 2 workarounds for this:
- Open the Xbox app on your phone if it’s linked to your Xbox
- Look for Battlefield 2042 there
- Select either the trial version or Battlefield 2042 for the Xbox One (even for Xbox Series X)
- The game should then appear
Otherwise you can find the game under:

- => Entire library
- => EA Play

If you have performance problems, you will find some settings here that improve performance and gameplay.
Update 9:08 p.m .: Occasionally there are still problems with the connection to the server and other errors that prevent joining a match. For most, however, it should work by now, the official support says:
Update 7:48 p.m .: The first players log in again and can play. The problems seem to be slowly subsiding.
Update 19:30: Some players can log in again, but then receive further error messages at the start of a round. The error “Ubable to Load Persistence Data” hinders them. Battlefield support has advised us to announce that the issue is known. EA reminds players with the trial version to quit the game completely in order not to waste the 10 hours in the menu (via Twitter).
Update 7:15 p.m .: Slowly the greatest mass of players should try to log in, which is reflected on the servers. With the note “unable to connect”, the servers appear to be currently overloaded or completely down. More and more players are reporting problems with the connection. We can also confirm that a login is currently not possible with us.
Update 3:45 p.m .: Except for the performance and the scoreboard, there are no major problems with Battlefield 2042 that would have surfaced on a large scale so far. Most players seem to be enjoying the release. We end the ticker for the time being and continue to accompany the new shooter with information, guides and articles.
Update 1:30 p.m .: There is already a first update from the developers, which adjusts the experience points of the portal mode. In addition, further servers are to be made available for the portal:

Update 11:25 am: Performance and the scoreboard continue to dominate the discussion on reddit. There, the players also complain about missing content, sometimes refunds are requested. Traditionally, however, a loud minority is particularly present here. Most of all, the quiet crowd seems to just gamble and enjoy the game, and there is always praise on Twitter. What’s your first impression?
Update 10:50 am: The discussion about the scoreboard is escalating in the community. Thousands of players want more insight into their statistics in the game and are demanding the “old” scoreboard back:

Update 10:37 am: Performance is currently a growing issue in the community, at least among PC gamers. Even with strong hardware, fans struggle to get high FPS ranges. One reason for this is likely to be the new, large 128-player modes. If you also have difficulties, the following solutions may help you:
- set the graphics settings as low as possible
- sets DLSS to performance or ultra-performance
- restarts the game – especially if the settings are not adopted
Even with these options, however, there have been reports that a maximum of 20 FPS more, sometimes not even that, can be gotten out in this way.
Update 10:07 am: One of the specialists, Dozer, is already causing release problems. Apparently there is a bug with his gadget, the SOB-8 shield, which is why it was deactivated. On MeinMMO you can read more about the 10 specialists of Battlefield 2042.
Update 10:00 a.m .: There are more and more discussions on reddit about the missing scoreboard. Apparently the players lack the possibility to see how good they were in a round or to get general information. The topic currently dominates the community. Some even threaten to kill penguins:
Update 9:50 am: Most players can apparently play without problems and praise Battlefield 2042 for its looks. However, there are complaints about the performance on PC and problems with EA Play and the Gamepass. If you can’t find the game on Xbox either, the following workaround could help:

Update 9:23 am: More and more players start the game and fight their way through the tutorial. However, there have also been isolated reports of errors on the Xbox, where the game crashes or the console even shuts down. Do you have problems too?
Update 9:08 am: The error messages all seem to disappear after a restart. So far there have been no reports of failures or Sevrer problems.

Update 8:38 am: According to reports, Xbox players who have pre-ordered versions will be able to pre-play. It should have started there since midnight. Can you already gamble?

When is Battlefield 2042 coming? The starting shot for Early Access will be given at 9:00 a.m. German time. All buyers of a Gold or Ultimate Edition and all EA Play subscribers can then start playing.
The preload started a few days earlier. If you want to download the game, you should be patient, because you need almost 50 GB of free space on each platform. You can find out more about this in our special on early access, preload and download size.

By the way, Battlefield 2042 starts with crossplay between PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X | S as well as between PS4 and Xbox One. The division is due to technical reasons, because PC and the new generations support battles with up to 128 players. On the older consoles you will find a maximum of 64 players per match.
