Ice hockey: CE Timmendorf are running out of players

That “we with our small squad always have to improvise ”, coach Michael Pohl was clear even before the season in the regional ice hockey league. However, the coach of the CE Timmendorf did not expect that after a few weeks he would only be able to play with nine field players.

Ice hockey regional league from the Baltic Sea with only nine field players

This means that the Beach Devils from the Baltic Sea could not play for the away game at the Harsefeld Tigers on Saturday (November 13th / 7.30 p.m.), because according to the rules of the game, at least ten field players and two goalkeepers are required for a team capable of playing. But the Ostholsteiners can’t get them together without help from the second team (regional league).

Because after the long-known failures of Jason Horst and Marco Meyer, Dennis Overbeck, Lukas Majercik, Jan Rostek, Felix Dettmer and Captain Kenneth Schnabel also canceled or injured at short notice.

Mai want Comeback mit 53

The Ostholsteiner veteran, who celebrates his 54th birthday on November 21, actually celebrated his official farewell in 2009 after 555 games, but was always on the ice for his heart club when needed.

Timmendorf’s trainer relies on discipline and cleverness

And it is currently extremely large. “Michael is an option, but that will only be decided at short notice,” explains Pohl, who is happy “that we only have one game this weekend”. The Beach Devils definitely want to compete. “I just have to make the best of the situation, play extremely disciplined and smart,” said the CET coach before the game at the Tigers, who have lost their two games of the season so far. And a veteran like “Neger” Mai could certainly help …
