New World is getting one of the most controversial MMO features ever

Dataminers are particularly active in New World right now. You will find a number of new features on the PTR server, including weapons, dungeons and areas. A new feature found is the Dungeon Finder. It doesn’t exist yet and many see it rather critically.

What was found in data mining? On the Seite Eternal Adventures all current information of the dataminers was collected from the PTR server. There you can find, for example:

The latest find, however, is about a group finder that is specifically intended for dungeons.

From the text modules shown, it can already be concluded that you will automatically register for a dungeon and be admitted when enough players have been found. There are the following sentences, among others:

– Estimated waiting time
– You will be removed from the queue when you leave the group. Are you sure?
– Your group is already in the queue for another dungeon
– You are already in line for the outpost storm

LFG tool is seen controversially, is said to have killed the social interaction in WoW

How is the Group Finder received? In general, group finders or LFG tools are seen as very controversial in MMO communities. There are many “old-time” supporters who claim that such tools killed social interaction.

So you no longer have to deal with other players and only port from dungeon to dungeon instead of looking for a guild and mastering the challenges with it.

MeinMMO editor Benedict Grothaus also wrote in 2017 that LFG-Tools has made WoW more convenient, but less social:

How does the New World Community see that? The new feature is being discussed lively in a reddit thread, with many players being open to the change. The user renihskcocffokcuf, for example, does not find the current system, in which one simply spams into the chat, social either (via reddit):

I’m so sick of people arguing that the Group Finder is destroying social interaction in MMOs. The amount of interaction I have in this game without Group Finder is the same as other games with Group Finder.

But instead of just queuing and doing what I want, I have to spam LFG and constantly scan the chat.

However, there are also isolated negative comments. User theshined writes that LFG tools have so far ruined every MMORPG in which they were implemented.
