New World: All trading deactivated again due to duplication exploit

Since the launch towards the end of September, hardly a day has passed without negative headlines about the online role-playing game New World (from 39,99€ at pre-order) there. So now again: The development studio was again forced to temporarily deactivate all trade including the taler transfer.

The trigger for this is a new “Item-Dupe” that appeared last weekend and has been causing some anger and resentment since then. With the help of a trick it was or still seems to be possible to reproduce objects during ‘housing’. Numerous players have taken advantage of this, for example, to duplicate the coveted “Loot Luck Trophies” and to offer them at dumping prices in the trading post – with serious consequences for the already ailing economic system of New World.

Amazon Game Studios is currently in the process of finding a solution to this exploit. Until this is found, trading remains deactivated. The official statement reads:
“Hi everyone, we are aware of a possible duplication exploit that has been spread on forums and social media. While we are investigating the exploit, we have temporarily disabled all forms of asset transfers between players (e.g. sending currencies, guild coffers, trading posts, player-to-player trading). Any player who participated in the use of this exploit will be punished accordingly.

As soon as the duplication exploit has been investigated and we are ready to re-enable the wealth transfer, we will update this post.

Thanks for your understanding.”
